Absolutely yummy food all around! but I do have to say it's a little overpriced. Maybe it's because I have my roots in Malaysia? Lovely selection of cocktails, very unique and very tasty. Loved the attentive staff and the setting that is not too crowded. View all feedback.
What Vivianne Barton doesn't like about Lucky Suzie:
This was my second visit here. The first time we had the wonderful lobster Thermidor spring rolls and the menu was more extensive. I was disappointed to find a smaller menu and some of the previous favourites have been taken off the menu. While the food was OK, it lacked some of the park I had previously experienced. Apparently a lot of customers have also commented to wait staff about the change in menu so please che... View all feedback.
I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, but the prices always held me back. When I saw it on dimmi's flash deal, I was thrilled! My first impression was that many of the dishes were more traditional than I had expected for an Asian fusion restaurant. The flavors were all amazing, but I was hoping for a bit more innovation, especially with the chow kwai tau. The standouts for me were the incredibly fresh oysters topped with shaved ice, the crispy fried tofu, and the grilled Katsu sandwich. The service was good and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it perfect for a night out with a friend. Overall, my belly was satisfied, but I probably wouldn't return without a deal.
Looking for a cocktail and some modern Asian cuisine? Look no further! If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to try the ABC dessert - pandan has never tasted better!
This place has been on my list of "must try" for so long and I finally got the chance to try it, located in the streets of Darlinghurst. As soon as we walked into the dining area which is nicely decorated with simplistic modern round lights, we were politely greeted by a waitstaff (she was exceptional all night, great recommendation and great service) and seated at our table. I do recommend booking a table for groups of 4 or more as seating does seem limited and this place does get booked out. We ordered quite a few dishes as the servings were small and great to share, the highlight of the night was definitely the the raw king salmon($19), the sweet and tangy lime dressing goes amazingly well with the tender salmon pieces and the plating was amazing!! The other 2 must try dishes of this winter there is the truffle mushroom($5ea) & the taro layer cake ($16)with truffle (+$15)custard and don't forget to add your truffle shavings! The not so great is the oysters, not really sure if they salted the oysters before hand but they were.. let me tell you.. super SALTY. Overall experience was great!! Good food, great wine & better company

I've sampled quite a number of the restaurants on Stanley St and had walked passed this one a number of times. The interior looks a bit try-hard trendy but without much substance but I decided to give it a go the other night. The thing that drew me in was the blue swimmer crabs croquettes that they had on their menu but as soon as I had sat down, they informed me that they did not have any tonight and had instead substituted it with a truffle oil and mushroom one - same price $5 - so I ordered that and a kuey teow. Mushroom croquette came out and it was small. Very small. It was basically a small button or field mushroom covered with cheese, breadcrumbs, some herbs and truffle oil. I cut it in two to try and make it last but it didn't really matter because it was nothing special... nothing worth savouring. Then they brought out the kuey teow. I have eaten many a kuey teow and know a good one from a bad one. Unfortunately this was not one of the better ones... basically bland, shredded and tasteless. At that point I was starting to feel like I was at Unlucky Suzie's instead. The guy behind the counter kept asking me if I liked my meal but I just didn't have the heart to tell him and hurt his feelings. I give them 2 stars for trying something a bit different with the mushroom truffle thing, but I won't be heading back there in a hurry.
