Was Ralph McRalphie at Ciel Rouge a mag?
This was a nice dining experience. Many north and south Indian options, veg and non-veg. They have a vegan menu as well. Good selection of wines and cocktails. Service was attentive. Moderately priced but not cheap. Its full on a weekend, so you will have to book ahead. View all feedback.
This restaurant in Sydney is one of the best Indian restaurants around, offering a must-try experience for those looking for authentic South Indian flavors. I tried the Masala Dosa and Garlic and Pepper soup, both of which were delicious. The soup had a perfect balance of spicy pepper and flavorful garlic. The ambiance is great for dining with family, and the service is friendly and polite. The prices are reasonable compared to other Indian restaurants in Harris Park, making it a worthwhile visit. The restaurant opens at 12pm, and I visited at 1pm to find a decent crowd already enjoying their meals.
We had the seafood banquet for 8 people. The service was very good and all the food was fantastic. The prawn starter was very tasty and the dosa was nice and crisp. All the mains were very good. In particular the fish and chicken were great. Definitely the best Indian meal I have had in years.
The restaurant had a great ambiance with a sophisticated feel, unusual for a curry house. Although the vegetable samosas were a bit disappointing and tasted more like a French onion soup pastry, the garlic and cheese naan made up for it. The fish curry was excellent. I also got a beef vindaloo for takeaway to test out their spice level. The service was outstanding. I would definitely return, but I would choose a different starter next time.
We had high expectations when we visited Malabar Restaurant for their South Indian cuisine, and they surpassed all of them. We started with the (Mellagu) Tiger prawns and a simple samosa, both of which were delicious. The prawns were perfectly cooked with a hint of pepper, while the samosa reminded us of the famous onion Samosas in Chennai. We couldn't resist ordering the Kerala fried chicken after seeing it at the next table, and it was the perfect dish for a rainy evening (though we wish we had some chai with it). For the main course, we tried the Goat Mappas and Chicken Chettinad with Kerala Parotta, all of which were rich and flavorful, offering a true taste of South Indian cuisine. The Malabar Parottas in Sydney were incredibly soft and flaky. Malabar Restaurant is a gem serving authentic South Indian food that I, as a South Indian myself, truly enjoyed, while also catering to local tastes with burst of flavors. I can't wait to go back!
Had a delightful dinner at Malabar! I was very much looking forward to coming to Malabar as I had heard excellent things from friends on numerous occasions. The service was excellent! The servers were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. The food was also super delish! To start we had dipping sauces and pappadums which were great and got me excited for the dishes to come! For mains we had the daal Makhani, the prawn Konkan curry, and the butter chicken. We enjoyed these with rice, garlic naan, and Peshwari naan. I was most excited for the prawn Konkan curry but it ended up being my least favourite (despite still being good). The highlight for me was the Peshwari naan. My only regret is that we didn't leave enough room for dessert! For that reason its probably better to come to Malabar with a big group so you can have a taste of a wider range of dishes!
