What Rylan Sipes dislikes about Beppi's:
Overpriced, very disappointed. Food was not amazing, not overly warm or tasty. Thought maybe being a highly recommended restaurant things like cracked pepper and grated cheese would be a given. Venue is beautiful, menu looked incredible but did not deliver at all. Things like ordered glass of wine that didn’t arrive until after main was finished was disappointing. And entree arriving within 15mins of ordering and then... View all feedback.

What a wonderful dining experience! Impeccable service and food. Thank you so much to the lovely staff who looked after us. Highly recommend.
A rare find! A great tucked away Italian restaurant with very friendly and professional staff incorporating a history of Italian tastes with a unique atmosphere, especially in the cellar out back if your lucky enough to get a table there.
Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and service was impeccable. Food was amazing! Felt like I was back in Italy whilst eating. Will be coming back here for sure!
Pushy maitre'd, no atmosphere, stale bread, burnt garlic bread, gluggy spag bol, veal that tasted freezer burnt, and dear as hell. We were one of only two tables this particular night. The food wasn't good. Maybe it's because we recently returned from Milan, and our expectations were high, but this failed to meet expectations. Figs in prosciutto were sloppy. Buffalo mozzarella was too hard, not luscious and gooey. No veges (other than potato or spinach) - It's all a bit bleh, which given previous good experiences and reputation came as a surprise. Why keep pouring 500ml sparkling mineral water, when it's VERY obvious we could've/should've had several 1L bottles. Gouging, silly, constantly interfering. Tried to make us feel guilty when no dessert ordered, but $22 for sorbet doesn't work for me.
Beppi's Restaurant in Sydney is a well-established institution known for serving traditional Italian cuisine. While some diners find the service to be a bit cold at times and the food to be hit and miss, others rave about the scrumptious dishes and impressive wine list. The four cheese gnocchi is a must-try, and asking for a seat in the cellar adds to the charm of the experience. Some reviewers had mixed feelings about the dishes, with some praising the seafood but noting discrepancies in the saffron cream sauce. Overall, Beppi's offers a memorable evening with delicious food, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere.

The service was excellent. Wine prices a little expensive. Food was tasty. We enjoyed our meal and would come back again for a sepal occasion. We eat out 3 time a week and the wine list pricing makes dinning here a tad expensive. Food was excellent
While we really enjoyed our meals at Beppi’s I was a bit shocked at the bill. I haven’t been for several years, but have been 4-5 times over the years. We had 2 pastas, 2 sides of vegetables, 1 Smaller bottle of mineral water, 2 glasses of moderately priced wine, 2 tiramisu and the bill was over $300. The food was excellent but I noted later the pasta had two prices, and apparently the special veges of Asparagus I asked to have as a side $10-15? was $32. For 4-5 sticks of asparagus even if imported is a bit over the top. The pasta must have been in the higher price in the $50-60 range., as there were two prices when I checked back. The service was excellent and the younger dark haired chap looked after us very well. An excellent and extensive wine list but we generally only want 1-2 glasses with dinner these days but the glass of wine we had was nice. Again, it was very enjoyable, but I do think it was a bit too expensive.
Very friendly heartful welcome, first-class atmosphere, service and quality of food. Disappointed that two of my favourite items on the dessert menu are no longer available, Zabaglione and Crêpes Suzette, but there are many other desserts on offer.
I was invited to dinner at Beppi’s and given this restaurant is something of an Australian institution I was looking forward to experiencing some really great dishes. I chose the “Beppi's Saltimbocca di Vitello ripieni di asiago, prosciutto e salvia Milk fed veal scaloppine folded with San Daniele Prosciutto, Asiago cheese, sage white wine sauce garlic broccolini” at a cost of $44. What was placed in front of me was less ‘milk fed veal” and more minute steak. Three small pieces in fact, with a few slivers of prosciutto, placed on top of some wilted broccolini. I have eaten this dish many times in my life. In this country Tiamo’s in Melbourne makes the very best, with genuine milk fed veal and at $34 considerably cheaper. Their serving size is also at the very least twice the size of Beppi’s. My gripe is not just about the quality and paucity of the food. The attention of the waiters can seem oppressive, particularly as the night wears on, so much so that I strongly suspected they were doing their best to hurry us along in order to close up for the night. It became so bad that my brother had to say quite definitely to our waiter (after he appeared twice within 10 minutes, and while we were enjoying our second $150 bottle of wine) “Look, we’re not ready for dessert yet. Please let us enjoy our wine.” Dessert, (tiramisu) when it came was as ordinary as the my first course. While I was a guest and as such did not pay for my meal, I know the bill was $500+. I understand there was also a very hefty credit card charge included as well, and I was therefore astounded to hear the waiter, who leaned over my brother (who was seated) when he was settling the bill, say, “Oh, do you want to leave a tip? Oh, so no tip then?”. My brother firmly confirmed that, no, he didn’t want to leave a tip! All in all, a most disappointing experience from a place that is over charging, under delivering and leaning heavily on it’s reputation. And Beppi’s, please refrain from responding to my review with your usual spiel, eg: “We are so sorry you had a disappointing visit to Beppi's. Could you please let us know when you came so we can address the issues with the staff on the day. Thank you for your feedback.” A) I won’t be coming back, and B) enough people have given similar negative reviews about the same issues, so instead of the spiel, perhaps you could do something about the many complaints regarding cost and food quality?
