The roll was not toasted, and the banh mi was bland. This was probably due to the lack of pate and the quality of the meat used.

Fu-Wah has been one of my go-to restaurants for over seven years. I almost always order the tofu banh mi. As a Vietnamese-American, I feel I have a good sense of what authentic banh mi should taste like, and this place delivers. The braised tofu is simply the best, and they even sell it by the pint, so you can take some home to enjoy with your meals. They also offer a nice selection of other Asian food products, like sauces and snacks, which is convenient since you don't have to venture all the way to South Philly for just a few items. It's a bit pricier than shopping on Washington Ave, but I believe it’s worth it to support a local family-run business. The location is easily accessible by public transit, and I rarely have trouble finding parking when I pick up my call-in orders. They are also very quick! The store is clean and small, but it never feels overcrowded, and I’ve never had any issues with their in-store ATM (since they’re cash only!). The quality has remained consistently high since I first discovered Fu-Wah almost a decade ago. I love bringing friends and family from out of town here; it’s always a solid choice!

This neighborhood gem is the perfect place to find all your pantry essentials and last-minute ingredients, like a lemon! I rushed over to Fu-Wah the other night to grab one while I was preparing for a potluck!

Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. This place offers some of the best Banh Mis in town. My personal favorite is the Chargrilled Pork Banh Mi.

My child and I always order the classic banh mi with extra pâté. It's fresh and easy on my stomach! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves banh mi—definitely a 10/10!
