Really tasty food. We had a seafood plate and veggie enchiladas. Great decor. Very friendly staff.

Excellent waitress service and hostess service! One of us left our cell phone at the table after we had left the restaurant. The waitress brought the phone to the hostess, and the hostess then called the phone number of the person who had made the reservation. It was very thoughtful of both of them and as a result, along with the food being delicious, we will definitely return to El Rey!

When we first got there, we were confused whether to sit down or to wait for a server. We were given a very friendly waiter, kind. We looked at other peoples reviews to see what the options were and we went for the Best review which was the quesadilla and the chicken burrito both dishes had a decent flavor. The quesadilla was in a handmade tortilla which made it worth the plate. The chicken pastor burrito was missing Some flavor it needed a bit more savory flavors. I was glad that it came with a dollop guacamole. we tried the drinks, the guava margarita is way too sweet. The Paloma was decent. You can’t go wrong with a classic margarita .we can definitely tell a good Mexican restaurant if we see a lot of Mexican families however, this was not the case. Would say this is more of a trendy spot for the night life scene.

Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. I like this place and have no complaints. I recommend the Brisket

The shrimp fajitas were delicious. The steak fajitas didn 't have as much flavor. Not sure why they don 't have pinto bean refried beans, the black bean refried beans were not as good but ok. The tres leches were disappointing and arguably not tres leches since they didn 't have the characteristic cream covering them. They just had a lot of mixed berries compote and the creme was mixed with blueberries but wasn 't good and it looked and tasted more like a cake. Also, the cake part was way too dry.
