My wife and I enjoyed our first visit to Bud Marilyn's. The location is most convenient to Philly's Avenue of the Arts and there's plenty of parking in the area. The food was terrific and we would recommend the salmon, the wedge salad, and the very tasty Blood Orange sorbet for dessert. We plan to return the next time we visit Philadelphia. View all feedback.
What MarilynW doesn't like about Bud Marilyn's:
Had started going there about 3 yrs ago and go back a few times a year. I always got the Marilyn's Fried Chicken. Last nite the same meal less than impressive. Don't know if they changed the recipe. My friend got the steak special and he said it was just ok. For the money I think now I will only go back occasionally for the weekend special breakfast. The meal last night for 2 and NO alcohol was over $100. View all feedback.
Food was very good and nicely served. Relatively limited menu but all items looked good-especially the fried chicken. I had the stuffed meatloaf which was really good. My husband had the short rib pasta which he said was good not great but good. It is all very well prepared comfort food Ambiance is upscale and still fun though a little loud.
As usual did not disappoint, lunch before seeing Tina Fey Amy Pohler at the Met. Shared my fav Nashville Hot buns and for the first time had the cheese curds both delicious. I had the burger for the first time cooked to perfection! The server was beyond 5 stars. He went out of his way and took special care of my very pregnant daughter. One of Philly's gems!
Their Fried Chicken and Bubbles promo was great. The chicken breast was a touch dry but everything else was amazing. The mizo slaw tasted like a grilled steak. I am forever changed by it lol.
Squash appetizer was impossible to eat, as it was uncooked, or something. The hummus was good and its presentation outstanding. I liked the pita and the vegetables. The kimchi rice was very good. B&M's is a staple for we locals and visitors. This was especially apropos, as one of our guest had parents with the names Bud and Marilyn.
Too bad the server after checking to see if our food came out ok never returned, except to bring the check. She was nice but failed as a server. Hope management reads this and maybe just lets their servers know that you should at least check back with the table every 5 to 10 minutes. Food was good and the place is very nice. This feedback is more for the management.
