We tried a bacon and cheese pie w... read more Wow, the food was amazing! We decided to stop at this restaurant after noticing a long line outside. We were not disappointed. We tried a bacon and cheese pie with large bacon slices and a plain pie that was just as satisfying as a chunky pie from elsewhere. The pastry was flaky and delicious. The prices were very affordable for the quality of the pies. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant when we are in the area.

I was originally only going to give a 4 review. I have been here a few times and eaten many a pie. I thought they were like every other town named bakery in that they served food that only a beloved local could enjoy. I was wrong. I was so wrong. Today's order was the Beef, Cheese and Bacon pie, a Caramel Hedgehog slice and Custard Tart (not the baked one). The BCB was beautiful. Right amount of salt and meat, good cheese, hot and smelled great. The Hedgehog slice was great. It wasn't the kind of hedgehog slice you get at a school cake fair that was made to impress, it was the kind you get from grandma on Christmas that shows that she made it with heart, not to impress Karen from the PTC. The custard tart broke me. It was, by far, the best custard tart I've tried ever. The pastry was on point. There was no overpowering of the custard or the base. It was perfect. I wish I had another but I think they just sold the last one. You get a 5. You made my rainy day 1 big step brighter.
