What Alvin Rex L dislikes about Kan-anan:
Kan-anan is one of my favorite dining spots in Dapitan. You can select fresh seafood and have it cooked to your liking. The pork and chicken BBQ are also popular choices. Kan-anan is one of my favorite dining spots in Dapitan. You can select fresh seafood and have it cooked to your liking. The pork and chicken BBQ are also popular choices. The restaurant is located directly across from Sunset Boulevard, making it a great place to enjoy the famous Zamboanga del Norte sunset while dining in the afternoon. However, keep in mind that the area is not air-conditioned, so you may feel a bit hot while you eat. Additionally, the smoke from the BBQ stand can leave a lingering smell on your clothes. Also, be prepared for potential delays with your orders; it’s a good idea to place them ahead of time.

This restaurant focuses exclusively on barbecue, serving grilled chicken, pork, and fish, all accompanied by rice. There is no menu – that's all they offer! It seems to be quite popular; during our mid-week visit, we noticed a healthy crowd. While the establishment is fairly clean, the tables could use a more thorough cleaning. It's worth mentioning that, like many places here, if you want a cold soda, you'll have to bring your own ice. All in all, the BBQ was delicious and the sauce packed with flavor. However, as an American, I do wish they provided a bit more variety beyond rice, such as baked beans, corn on the cob, or coleslaw – the classic sides I associate with BBQ!
I planned to have lunch at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to discover that they were offering a buffet. To my delight, the attendant informed me that the food was complimentary in celebration of the Fiesta of Señor Santiago. I felt fortunate and thankful for the free meal that day. Wishing Kan-anan ongoing success, and may Señor Santiago bless you abundantly!
