Gio's Pizza - Danvers
Gio's Pizza
Description
Gios, a once-beloved dining destination, is facing criticism following a change in ownership. Diners report a noticeable decline in food quality, with items such as chicken tenders and cheesesteaks disappointing in taste and preparation. Customers have voiced concerns over poor service, including rude staff interactions and mishandled orders. While some patrons still enjoy select dishes like meatball subs, the overall experience seems tarnished by inconsistent quality and a new atmosphere that fails to impress. Regulars hope for a return to the restaurant's former glory, as the potential for delicious, hearty meals remains evident amidst the current challenges.

Thank you for messing up my order again. I ordered a plain Chicken Caesar Salad, and instead, I received a Chicken Caesar Garden Salad with no croutons and no cheese.
I've always enjoyed dining at Gios; the staff is friendly and the food has generally been excellent. However, during my visit last night, I ordered a pepper and mushroom cheesesteak along with a chicken kebab salad. They recently underwent renovations, so perhaps they have a new cook. Unfortunately, the sub was severely undercooked, and the roll fell apart due to excessive grease. It felt like the entire sandwich had been dipped in a vat of oil, and there was also no cheese on the sub. I sincerely hope this was just a one-time issue. The owner and staff are usually so welcoming, so I doubt this reflects Gios' usual standard. I had intended to have the sub for lunch today, but I ended up throwing it away and just eating the salad for dinner instead.
Update. the place was sold? I've been here for years and it started to be expensive! went last night and it was even more expensive! and that was terrible. the cheese steak was so crushed as if he went through a mixer, I asked for a dead roll (it warns). the steakries I asked to be well done were almost raw and not boiled all the way through, the BLT wrap had the half of the speck that it also used and had onions blt has no wobble! wont back there. lg cheese steak small steakfrie blt wrap$28.76....outrageous!
I enjoyed a delicious meatball sub at this restaurant, but they also offer roast beef, pizza, and pasta! They provide good, hearty food options. You can choose to dine in or take out!
