Description

**Lidi Restaurant: A Mixed Bag of Experiences**

Lidi Restaurant impresses with a vibrant happy hour featuring $5 pizzas, delicious cocktails, and an appealing menu of appetizers. While the food consistently earns praise, service quality feels hit or miss. Some patrons found the hostess unwelcoming and bartenders indifferent, dampening the overall experience. Yet, attentive waitstaff often turn things around, offering friendly and efficient service. One memorable episode involved the owner personally delivering a dessert mix-up, showcasing a commitment to customer satisfaction. Overall, Lidi's comforting ambiance and quality cuisine make it a spot worth visiting, particularly during happy hour, despite some service inconsistencies.

Really nice meal. The buratta was very good. It cane with roasted beets which was different (and tasty). I had the mushroom ravioli which was delicious and my wife had the shrimp scampi appetizer with a small Caesar salad. I didn't get enough of the shrimp to comment but since a didn't get more than a nibble from my wife, that tells you it was good. We ended with the cherry patch, which I loved. Basically a soft chocolate fudge bar with cherries in it and on top. With a coke, a glass of wine, and a cup of coffee the bill can to $104. The one down side is you have to pay for a basket of Chicago's fococia bread. I just can't get pay for bread at any restaurant, let alone an Italian one. Oh well. Price per person: $50–60 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I went to Ristorante LIDI for the first time and had a great experience! The Meatballs were tender and full of flavor. For any mushroom lover, the Porcini Ravioli is a must. The Veal Chop Milanese was a generous portion with well-balanced flavors. The wine list was well priced and not overloaded with Italian wines, and the extensive bourbon selection made for an excellent nightcap. Everything was delicious, and I will return next time I am in Daniel Island. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Went for the food happy hour specials and did not disappoint! Our bartender was great and he was very busy but never showed that it was too much. He was very professional, nice, and always had a smile. We tried the amazing stuffed mushrooms and deliciouspizza but will be back to try other items for sure!

My partner and I went to Lidi for dinner. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere had a charming, neighborhood feel—very cozy and reminiscent of a family-run place. I imagined an elderly grandmother bustling around the kitchen, making sure everything was just right. We ordered dessert to take home. When we got back (we walked), I realized my dessert wasn’t the classic cannoli I was expecting but something similar yet different. I’m a traditionalist when it comes to that particular dessert, so I was a bit disappointed. I called the restaurant to inquire and learned about a seasonal pumpkin cannoli mix-up. The owner/manager asked if I lived on the island, and when I said yes, mentioning we had just walked home, he immediately offered to send a driver with the correct dessert. Less than ten minutes later, a driver arrived with the right dessert—and even a small gift certificate as an apology! That thoughtful gesture was totally unnecessary but showed real class and dedication to their customers. I was very impressed, and we will definitely be returning soon.
