I brought my wife here for her 40th birthday based on a recommendation, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Everything from the appetizers to the main courses, along with the ambiance and service, made this one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Brad went above and beyond to treat my wife like royalty and surprised us with a fantastic dessert. I'll definitely be returning! View all feedback.
What Jojo doesn't like about Mahe Dana Point:
I made an online reservation for 6:45 PM. When we arrived, we were informed that we could only eat outside, which was frustrating. I asked about the possibility of sitting inside, but they were unwilling to accommodate us. If I had known this beforehand, we would have chosen a different night to come. I'm very sensitive to outdoor heaters, and it was cold and raining outside. From my seat, I noticed two empty tables... View all feedback.
Great menu--creative and has a good variety of food choices. Service is always very good and there are seating options for large groups that are not at all crowded.
I took my wife for her 40. Birthday by a forgiveness and boy I'm so glad I did. From the appetizers and main course to the ambience and service, this is by far one of the best places I have ever eaten. Brad even went out of his way to give my wife the royal treatment and an amazing dessert. I definitely come back!
I have a reservation online for 6:45. When we arrived, we were told that we could not eat in, just outside (respond). I was wondering, but they weren't ready to take me. If I had known we had gone another night. I am very sensitive to outdoor heating (it was cold and raining outside). I saw two open tables from my seat, which were filled only before our departure. The food was good and our waitress was very good and nice.
Appetizer was undercooked, sent it back for something different, the food came before the appetizer so we cancelled. I ordered the salmon and it was undercooked and mushy in the middle. Just overall not a great first time experience.
Having gone to Mahe in Seal Beach years ago, we were excited to try out the new Dana Point location. Probably not the best dinner spot for 6 p.m. as there were a lot of families with small children and babies. Well behaved, but not the dining environment we were looking for . . . appetizer was 5 Star delicious Ahi Poke, dinner was 1 star with the veggies having WAY too much Garlic (and I love garlic) and my piece of Mahi Mahi was inedible as I don't care for fish with over 1/2 being the dark meat blood line. . . my husband had Salmon that was great, rice and again, his veggies had way too much garlic. May try it again, but NOT on a Saturday night!!!
