Room okay and clean. Dinner goes like this, if you eat vegetarian, unfortunately you just don't get any meat and only get the side dishes from the main course. Not very creative, the food! We assume that Sonnalpen is the “stripped down” version of Hotel Madlener. A pity! No “heated ski depot”. Depot yes! The boss is not very approachable. Rooms: 4

In June we wen... read more From the first telephone contact with Ms. Madlener, I was impressed by her friendliness and how helpfully Ms. Madlener answered all my questions. In June we went to the Hotel Sonnalpen with a larger group and were warmly welcomed by the Madlener family. The rooms are very nice and clean with a balcony. The food was very good and nicely prepared. The eye eats too. We looked forward to breakfast and dinner every day. The tips for activities from the couple were very helpful. The sauna is also really nice. Overall, super nice friendly service. We will be coming back with a group in 2024 and are already looking forward to the time. Thank you for the wonderful time on behalf of our entire group. Rooms: Very nice, friendly rooms. Nice furnishings and very clean, easy to feel at home. Nearby activities: Great location, very good for hikes of all fitness levels. Many other sporting options. Many cable cars nearby can even be reached on foot. Even free with the guest card. Walkability: Many great hikes are possible directly from there or you can take the cable car up to any mountain for free. Food drinks: Very tasty regional dishes and always very well prepared. Simply a pleasure.

Servi... read more Location: There are hotels cheaper and less far from the ski lift. Parking excellent. Lift very well and silently. Nice sauna, very clean, lots of towels. Service: The service is good, except that there is often only non-German speaking staff present (and by that I mean that they cannot speak English, French, let alone NL). Quite difficult when you arrive and take the wrong slope, and your car is immediately damaged. Food is also mediocre, not much, and not in line with the price. Gluten free is well catered for. Rooms: rooms are beautiful, with new shower, no balcony, ample storage space, TV and seating, and an excellent cleaning team. Unexpectedly, a singles surcharge for 1 of 2.

We had booked half board, unfortunately there was only one menu and no second dish to choose from. Food was still ok. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a gastrointestinal illness and were only charged the price for the time we were there VERY NICE! Location is good and we can fully recommend the very quiet hotel.
