Hidden Gem. The kabobs were very tender and were so well seasoned! The cucumber salad was AMAZING- I had to recreate it at home. Really enjoyed my lunch- would recommend! View all feedback.
Living in Dallas, Texas, has its perks!! Our family seeks out new cultural experiences grocery stores, food events) to learn more about the world outside our own. This was a fabulous adventure! We took a few hours to visit Sarahs Market and ate lunch at their S Grill. The market is very small, but every inch of its space is very special. First, we found our way to the back corner and sat at a tiny countertop with only 4 chairs. The counter faces an open top grill, and you 're able to talk/ watch the chefs make the food. The menu is limited and pricey! We ordered one steak kabob $26.00). The steak was served medium rare, very juicy, on top of a long rice similar to rice pasta), and it was coated in a delicious seasoning completely unfamiliar to us. It came with roasted tomatoes purple onion. You can select from several sides, we picked the hummus. It was a huge portion, enough for 2 people. The chef was so pleased to have us and was very impressed that we were there to learn. He gave us many generous sized samples of the sides and sauces they offered. Everything was made in-house, from scratch with fresh ingredients from their grocery store. It was a wonderful experience! The bakery aspect of this location is a small glass display case full of sweets, like macaroons, cheesecake baklava, and more. Most of them were new to us. The pastry chef gave us a few samples that had us buying a bunch to take home, lol.We strolled through the grocery store part of the market before leaving and bought a few items we already enjoyed. The difference was buying things that are made in-house, like pita bread. You can definitely see, smell, and taste the difference. A FIVE STAR review for their authenticity, hospitality, and delicious fresh food. If you 're in the area you 've got to try the Grilled Kabobs.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of Middle Eastern food options, spices, hot dishes, and a well-stocked meat market. They also have a great selection of fresh produce, as well as a well-stocked freezer and cold food section. Their pita bread is always freshly baked. The store is kept very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful, especially if you are unsure of what to choose. They will happily answer any questions you may have about their products. The only downside is that parking can sometimes be difficult.
Great authentic middle eastern store with a bakery and little takeout restaurant in the back. I tried a couple of their platters and the kababs were cooked fresh in front of you and it was great, I would highly recommend their wraps! They also have great prices on prepackaged hummus and other middle eastern dips.
Sara's restaurant was a truly enlightening experience. The market offers incredibly fresh produce and a commendable variety of products, making it a hidden gem. The grill serves the best hummus I've ever had, along with the freshest pita (which they are known for) and grilled-to-order meats. I couldn't find a single fault. As a typical American, this was an eye-opening experience for me. The kind and knowledgeable staff only added to the WOW factor. I will definitely be returning again and again.
