I have always wanted to go to Pappas and we went on a Thursday night to enjoy the Chefs For Farmers pre-fix menu. And it did not disappoint! The menu selection was great , and Josh our server made the whole experience so nice! I have an egg allergy and Josh and the manager, Eric, made sure I did not get any thing with eggs, substituting a wonderful sorbet for the chocolate mousse. Definitely a place I would like to r... What Jesus Huerta doesn't like about Pappas Bros. Steakhouse:
I’ve been going for my Bday the last 20 years but yesterday might be the last time. Service was so slow and the food was mid at best. They changed the salads and the lobster bisquet was super peppery. They didn’t cooked the stakes as ordered so we needed to wait even longer. View all feedback.
I want to give a big thank you to Adam for providing a fantastic dining experience! I am looking forward to bringing my friends next time I am in town. The service and food were both perfect.
This restaurant has been voted one of the best steakhouses in Dallas for a reason. Everything from the moment you walk up to the doors, past the tranquil fountain, and see the staff open the doors with a smile, you know you are in for a fantastic dining experience. While it can feel a bit crowded on busy nights with hustling servers and a massive crowd of diners, the menu may also give casual diners some sticker shock. However, trust me when I say it is all worth it. Our server Ashley was outstanding, especially when our young child became restless during dinner. The tomahawk steak that some of our party split looked delicious, but I opted for the salmon which was seasoned perfectly with a butter sauce and capers, topped with amazing shrimp and lump crab. The lobster bisque I had before the entree was also one of the best I've ever had. Don't miss the chance to try it.
We hosted a birthday dinner for six on a Saturday night. Everyone had a great time and left feeling pampered and well fed. Three of us ordered steaks, filet mignon and boneless ribeye. I sampled those and they were great but it was my salmon that blew me away. It was cooked a perfect medium rare, as I'd requested, and practically melted in my mouth. Harticots verts and asparagus sides were delicious. French fries turned out to be cartoonishly thick slabs of potato coated with seasoning on the outside. Overall they were pretty bland, more of a conversation piece than anything else. It was ok, though: over the top means fun! If I could award 10 stars for the service, I would. Every staff member we encountered was polite, charming and indulgent. They did their jobs efficiently and unobtrusively. Messes were whisked away immediately. At the dessert stage, I looked down and realized clean flatware had been placed in front of me without my noticing. What a rare treat. The restaurant was jam packed, and it was LOUD. We had to shout to converse with anyone farther away than the next seat. Be warned about that. However, this quibble was eclipsed by the excellence of everything else. I should mention that Pappas Bros. is terribly expensive. All entrees are in the $50 range, and that only buys the protein. Sides are $14 each but could easily be shared by two, if not three, diners. Desserts are $16. The bar bill adds up with lightning speed. Reservations are a must. It's worth the money and planning. We got what we paid for: a perfect, memorable night. Vegetarian options: There are no great vegetarian options. You'll have to order an assortment of salads and/or sides. I would be surprised if anything is offered for vegans; everything seemed buttery. Parking: There's a big parking lot with the option of self parking, but all the close by spaces were taken by the time we arrived at 6:30. Thankfully valets are available if the lot is too packed.
Delicious food, great service, rich atmosphere. Amazing restaurant and so happy they are participating in Dfw restaurant week!
