I was visiting my sister who lives within walking distance and I am envious. We tried everything and was not once disappointed. I miss kolaches the most since I moved from Texas and was so excited they had them too! The staff was very nice and helpful and helped reel us in when we only had stars and donuts in our eyes. I ask my sister to go back every week so I can eat vicariously View all feedback.
What Monte Henderson doesn't like about Hypnotic Donuts Biscuits:
FLIES IN THE DONUT CASE!!! I walked in this morning and the first thing I saw were FLIES FLYING AROUND IN THE DONUT CASE! They were landing on the donuts and everything. I couldn’t unsee it! I politely told the associate behind the counter and walked out. Sanitation is everything to me. I have no idea what the donuts taste like and I probably never will at this point. View all feedback.
Went into Hypnotic because i was running an errand near by. the inside is clean and chill, what you would expect from a donut shop. the glass was filled with all kinds of tasty treats, but i opted for some classics: half dozen : 3 glaze, 2 chocolate covered, and 1 sprinkle. and i ordered one of the artisanal ones: the strawberry tres leches. the service was friendly and welcoming so absolutely no complaints there... why 3 stars you ask? well the regular donuts were lackluster, they did not have a airy dough feeling that i love in a donut. so they were dense. also.. the glaze melted?? idk maybe i dont understand something... but usually the glaze keeps a lil crunch right? ya'll tell me. the strawberry tres leches donut had a great flavor palette, but was very heavy. therefore, this would make an excellent desert. my only critique of this donut is that they should use the freshed fresh freshhhh strawberries... the strawberries on the donut were a little brown. if you're in the neighborhood, check them out and see for yourself!
I didn't try the donuts but got the biscuit with grape jam and added chicken to it. Was a little pricey at almost $10 for this and saw the speciality donuts were about $4. The chicken breast was huge and freshly fried so that helped make up for the $10 because it was filling. The place was small but has tables if you want to sit and the cashier was nice and helpful as well. Overall really good and would come again to give their donuts a try!
This was a super cute little donut shop that is close to the Dallas Arboretum. Be sure to stop by if you're in the area! Located in a strip mall, the store has ample parking out front. The menu is on the right wall as you enter, with the display of goodies straight ahead. There was a bit of a line when we got there, but the line moved quickly. I picked out three donuts to try: Banana Foster, Strawberry Sprinkle, and Bavarian the Barbarian. They were all deliciously fluffy, but my favorite of the bunch was the Bavarian the Barbarian. (You can't go wrong with the Bavarian creme-filled donut! They also offer other breakfast items, including biscuit sandwiches kolaches, and of course there are coffee other drink options. Overall, a cozy donut shop with yummy options to satisfy your sweet tooth!
I will say- not the biggest donut fan but i loved this place! I love that they have sweet and savory options. We had a tres leches and chocolate cake donut, jalapeño kolache and chicken biscuit. I am obsessed either way the tres leches donut- it was so yummy! My biggest problem with donuts is that they're always overly sweet but this wasn't. It was so good. Love the strawberries and cream on top. I could eat it every day. The biscuit i got was the kaye with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, cream cheese and chicken. Omg was it delish and huge. The biscuit was so fresh and soft- no dry biscuit here. This is a great place to stop before or after the arboretum- its only 2 min down the road. Will definitely be back. The shop looks like it was decorated by a college student and is kind of funky, but there is some Cute artwork on the walls. The folks working there were very friendly. (I dont find that as much with younger folks so was pleasantly surprised.
Hadn't been here since college. Such unique donut combinations available. Nice little space inside to sit and eat. Super friendly staff that was helpful when selecting. I got quite a few different one's, from a maple bacon eclair, to a blueberry fritter, to an espresso pistachio cream donut. They were fantastic. I also ordered a couple different chicken sandwiches from the menu, the Nashville hot one and the Kaye. Both were ok, the biscuit was really dry and chicken didn't have much seasoning of flavor. Overall a good spot for donuts, wouldn't have the chicken again.
