I placed an order online at Captain D's and arrived just two minutes after the scheduled pick-up time, but my food wasn’t ready for another 45 minutes. They were also out of okra, hush puppies, and tartar sauce. Looking at the menu, I wish I had just used the drive-thru since the customers in line were being served much faster.
My chicken tenders were so tough that I could bang them against the table. I couldn't even bite into them. It was absolutely terrible! I spent $26 on food, only to have to go out and spend another $20 because we couldn’t eat it.
The waitress was quite unfriendly and came across as a bit snobbish. My steak was cooked just right, but the lobster tail was surprisingly small—actually very tiny. The mashed potatoes were bland, and the salad looked brown and had stems in it. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I would never serve a salad in that condition. We paid a lot for our meal, and my husband even commented on how small the lobster tail was. It’s a shame, but the waitress definitely needs to work on her customer service skills. Also, it’s surprising that a seafood restaurant like Captain D’s doesn’t offer raw oysters.
The quality of food and service here can be quite inconsistent. I tried the catfish sandwich, and I really enjoyed it. I hope they keep it on the menu. If you’re a catfish fan, this dish is definitely a must-try!
HOLD ON! Funnel sticks?!?! Wow, they are absolutely delicious! The spicy fish was fantastic as well, especially when paired with my blackened shrimp skewers. I'm really pleased with my experience this time! However, when I brought up my previous visit to the manager, she didn't seem very interested in my concerns about finding foreign objects in my food. Not exactly great management!
