The restaurant is on the small side, but the waitstaff is helpful. The food is fantastic, especially the baby back ribs. If you're in a group, it's best to order the set menu or group meals. View all feedback.
What Aristide Dinca doesn't like about Kalye Mabini:
The place was small that was too crowded. We ordered baby back ribs and the waiter told us that it would take a long time to order since there were a lot of customers lined up and so for a group of four, we ordered 'A Taste of Everything' which turned to be almost bite size bits of baby back ribs, sweet corn, etc. Since the serving size was so small, we ended up eating at another restaurant. If you happen to be around Malolos (Bulacan), you cant miss this restaurant! A definitely must try! The baby back ribs will blow you off your seats! Haha a little exaggerated i know, but it's really good, fall off the bone succulent flavorful smokey meat! (Drooling while writing this as i remember it).Crews are also nice and very accommodating, the ambiance is homey... i admired their ceiling that looks like a mural :) Serving time is okay since the foods are prepared fresh, love the KM salad! :) and you also cant miss the baked tahong..:) We got a free dessert since we ordered a carbonara (creamy and nothing short but pure goodness too) with our set meal. We had turon squares, which tasted heavenly! Over all it was a pleasant dining experience! PSFirst glance at the menu you would say it's a little pricey, but once you tasted your food, you'll know what the fuss is all about..:) come to think of it, it's not even pricey since you got a decent steak on your plate, and that Lomo Ribs... so worth it!
Staff doesn't have sense of urgency. It took them 25 mins to serve us the additional rice that we ordered. Can't understand why.
I've heard about it several times from friends and how they raved about the "Lomo" served as the specialty of Kalye Mabini. Interestingly, you wonder why they named it after a street in Manila , where foreigners usually spends the evenings at bars and antique stores. It was probably the reason why they've started the small place opening only from mid-afternoon to evening with small meals fit for small get-togethers , or a small group of 3's or 4's. Now the place opens up for lunch , but can only accommodate comfortably from 25 to 50 persons at a time. It's not likely to get rowdy or noisy because of less space to be crowded or comfortable. Food is more expensive than in mall's restaurants but is more tasty, palatable and appetizing. Although I was initially surprised that they offered Oyster's Rockefeller in their menu, I was not able to taste it because they've not been into marketing yet and their last batch was available only on the order before ours. However, they did offer alternative choices. A variety of cuisine is offered in their menu so everybody can have their own preference. Food portions are available for sharing or individually. You can have a meal for 2 on a budget of P500. For a small restaurant, they also accept credit cards. Overall, it was a delectable experience.
Unexpected to see this kind of restaurant here in Malolos City, I mean the food, the service is competitive for world class competition. Foods are expensive, expect that. You wont see anything bellow PHP100.00 as your meal. Their best-seller is the steak, try that 'cause you wont regret to your order, the amount of the food they serve is totally worth the price. Don't go on weekends, expect that the restaurant is full of customers and you will have to wait to be seated, their place is very small--that's what i don't like.
