Mug Shots - Daingerfield
Mug Shots
Description
Tucked into downtown Daingerfield, this lively café-restaurant blends industrial-chic decor with small-town western charm, serving standout specialty coffees, fresh pastries, generous burgers and sandwiches, plus weekly specials and Sunday mimosas (with juice purchase). Friendly service, live Saturday music and a welcoming vibe make it a local second home and a draw for out-of-town brunch fans. Recent guests note inconsistent food quality, occasional incorrect orders and unexpected price discrepancies, so while the drinks and atmosphere shine, expect variable kitchen performance.

Additionally, on the club deluxe sandwich, they substituted the fresh, quality lettuce for a cheaper option and replaced the thick-cut meat with thinly sliced, lower-quality meat. We never minded paying a bit more for their dishes because we believed we were getting great food in return, but that's changed. Typically, our bill for four people ranges from $80 to $100, and we never complained about the prices. However, if we’re paying that much, we expect high-quality food, not the cheap, fast-food version of what it once was.
There were no vegetarian options available, but the service was excellent. It’s a great place to take a break.
I placed a pickup order over the phone, and all the menus I consulted listed the sandwich at $13. However, when I arrived, they charged me $16. When I inquired about the price difference, the staff member said that was what the computer showed. To make matters worse, my fries were so salty that I couldn't eat them. During a previous visit, I was also given one less order of fries than I had ordered. I'm finished with this place. I used to recommend it to out-of-town visitors, but not anymore.
