We were in Santa Fe on vacation, and went here to eat Friday for lunch. It was pretty good. The food was good, the drinks were cold, the service was perfect. There was nothing to complain about, but nothing was exceptional, either. It is a little pricey for a family meal, but id definitely come back to try some other menu items. View all feedback.
What Laura Boo doesn't like about Santa Fe Capitol Grill:
I really didn’t like anything we had. We got mozzarella balls to start-$14 for 13 small fried pieces of mozzarella-shameful, they were extremely wet and tasted like nothing. All the entrees were just meh. Nothing great, nothing I would recommend, nothing I would go back for. The service was also meh. She came back when she wanted which wasn’t great but I’ve had worse. Service very slow so many of our group were not happy at all. One was double billed. Cocktails varied in taste every drink. My tacos were bland and pretty dry and no real choices in sauce to improve. Water and teas had virtually no ice but cocktails were overloaded with ice. However, my wife's Jalapeño Burger was phenomenal!
Ordered an appetizer that we never received and when we asked to just cancel it bc we had already received our meals the waiter insisted we just wait for it to come out… no thanks please cancel. Upon receiving our meal, I ordered the Asian Short rib that came out very over cooked, rubbery and tasted like charcoal… over all not a good experience.
It's always my favorite place for breakfast. Can't wait to try dinner.
My wife and I went for the first time today, and we were so pleased. The service was great, the place was impeccably clean, and the food was wonderful. I had the chicken fried chicken, which was the best I have ever eaten.
I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. The new owners have done a good job of changing up the menu. I had a major issue. I sat down and before he even talked to me he came over with a glass of water with lemon in it. I understand no one can know my citrus allergy without talking to me. Sent it back with him and he brought me a plain glass of water. Then I went to order brunch. Eggs Benedict looked great. I asked to waiter if it had citrus in it, since I am deadly allergic. He said no. I asked are you sure? He said he would ask. It did so I ordered the French toast since it had no citrus. The order comes out with oranges on the plate. I send it back saying they needed to completely remake since citrus will put me in the hospital and it touched everything on my plate. The manager came to apologize. If I was not a cook and a mother of a kid with allergies for years they would have hospitalized me at a minimum. All staff needs training this is extremely dangerous.
