They're affiliated withba chain of restaura... read more Had the pleasure of eating at Yaku on the first day in Cusco, and, wow, what a great place to try out Incan staples. They're affiliated withba chain of restaurants that serve farm to table ingredients, and let me tell you the ingredient quality was spectacular. They served coca tea, so great for getting acclimated to the altitude. Tried the potatoes with huancaina, which was was very unique with yellow chili cheese sauce. The main was popular ají de gallina, which is a shredded chicken with another yellow chili and cream cheese sauce and a medley of vegetables. And the dessert oh my lord. The most unique take on tres leches that I've had, with mocha and some cacao beans sprinkled, plus a delicious fruit ice cream. Delicious! Worth every penny. Darwin was our waiter, who gave us fantastic service and recommendations. He was very sweet and attentive. Incredibly fresh, delicious, and beautifully served. Highly recommend, especially with a convenient location right from the Plaza. Can't wait to come back! Quiet possibly the best meal i have ever eaten. i was so astounded at the quality of the produce, the freshness of the sauces, and the range of flavours and textures in each bite. i started with th cerviche of trout in "tiger ' suace wih avocado and crispy corn. it also had river weed i believe and some kind of puffed rice or corn crepe the lightest and most beautifully presented. i wanted each mouthful to last forever. i followed this with the alpaca steak, the greatest meat dish ever! The texture, the flavour, the perfection of cooking it exactly as i wanted. it was accompanied by a mashed potato with cheese which accompanied the ju and the fresh herbs. i had a glass of the house malbec, also perfectly completing my meal. i am heading there now foe lunch as i cant quite believe that i can experience the perfect meal twice.
