We went to this small restaurant at dinner time after reading the comments on tripadvisor and also on wikitravel. We were not sure if they have a different owner now, or maybe this is a low season for them, or maybe it is the Peruvian work ethnic. The guy who worked there seems to be overload. There were 5 tables on that night, the girl at the reception doesn't seems to be bother to help at all. She was very busy with her phone when were there, and let that guy run in and out the kitchen, taking order, cooking and serving food at the same time, not to mention the wood fire place was 2 rooms away from the kitchen. So we basically see him running around, cooking and making pizza while serving customers. WE WAITED FOR AN HOUR for our food to be served, and honestly, with that service and the presentation of the food, it was way too pricy for Peruvian standard. If it was a 9 soles set lunch, we would accept it, but we order a 22 soles a la carte. The beef was overcooked, and very small portion. The pizza seems to be alright though. Probably I was just bad luck on that day, and we feel very sorry for that guy, but we will never go back again.
We are staying in a hostel on Arco Iris and we didn't want to go far to eat because we were tired (we just came back from the Inka Jungle trail) and we found this little restaurant. The french speaking owner is very kind, the food is local, simple but very tasteful and well presented. The value for money is extraordinary! Will be back for sure tonight!
