**Café Max: A Nostalgic Dining Experience**
Café Max offers a charming atmosphere that blends classic family dining with modern flair. While the vibrant vintage bar adds a cozy touch, the restaurant's recent changes have sparked mixed feelings among patrons. The extensive breakfast menu, featuring favorites like pancakes and shrimp tacos, shines with generous portions and reasonable prices. Despite some inconsistency in service speed and drink preparation, staff friendliness remains a highlight. Families appreciate the engaging environment for children, while breakfast enthusiasts rave about the beloved BLT. Overall, Café Max is a delightful spot for a casual meal in Culver, though some may find it overwhelmed during busy hours.

Went for breakfast with a party of 10 was seated quickly although it wasn't busy. Everybody ordered something different and had no complaints, eggs, bacon even the hashbrowns had that nice crusty outer layer cooked perfectly to order, cinnamon rolls are anabsolute try before you die, high recommend!!
Have been going here for over 15+ years! Food is always great and prices are affordable, environment is comfy and lots of Culver paraphernalia! Love all of the Mexican dishes and the breakfast items! Service hasn?t always been the best but Definitelyunderstandable on how tight service is especially on busy weekends! Leading, training, and hiring in a business alone isdefinitely not easy as well! Sinful French Toast, Hot chocolate, Frozen drinks, cappuccinos, Quesadillas, Sandwiches all great!
Although the service and food quality is excellent, the pancakes were grainy and the shrimp tacos should have had the spicy ???? sauce served on the side to let you adjust the flavor heat to your liking.
We had a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed their breakfast. Service was great, our coffee and soda cups were always full. The kids loved their chocolate milk. We can't wait to go back.
Probably the worst latte I?ve ever gotten. I ordered the pumpkin spice latte with almond milk. It was $5.62 for a small I tipped $1 so $6.62(slightly over an avg price but I?m willing to pay for a good latte). It was bitter and flavorless. I did not tastespices or even anything sweet in it. The young lady I placed and order with was nice but the ordering experience was veryawkward. I ordered it at the hostess stand and it took about 10 mins for it to come out. While I was waiting I was really surewhy it?s was taking so long and I didn?t see anyone making it. I also did not notice an espresso machine so I wonder if theyjust used regular coffee. All in all I think this place is trying to do too much and should just call themselves a ?familyrestaurant?. Then when they sell bad coffee it?s to be expected.

I had a wonderful lunch by the fire on a cold day. The service was excellent, and I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. For a meal type of lunch, the price per person ranged from $10 to $20. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a solid 5, and the atmosphere also a 5.

Our family has dined here about 5 or 6 times, and we've enjoyed the food each time. Unfortunately, the service has consistently declined with every visit, which has been quite frustrating. As a permanent wheelchair user, I find it challenging to navigate the space and find a suitable table, but I don't hold the restaurant responsible for that. However, I do expect the servers and hostesses to be a bit more friendly and to communicate if there's a wait for a table. I completely understand that situations can vary, and all I really ask for is a little courtesy. I hope the management can address this with the staff.

Great food, great atmosphere and a very friendly and attentive waiting staff. Regardless of the meal and the time of the day, we were never disappointed with food...
This is my favorite restaurant in culver when I come to my stepfather. it is as if you enter a living museum, as the walls are decorated with culver.
Thank you. I visited a high time with friends in the city culver. my friends and I were on this little jewel of americana. the portions are large, the eating was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I had a pleasant lunch, dinner and breakfast in this busy bistro! I had a breakfast sampler, a taco salad that was as big as my head, and some tacos to dinner. the owner was very polite to us and even loaned me a golf car to guide one around, only from the friendliness of her heart. andy taylor may be dead, but mayberry still exists. I say thank you.
For 33 years, Cafe Max has always been one of our favorite stops in Culver. As a camper/CGA student/Culver resident and last as CMA.
