Sonic Drive-in - Cuero
Sonic Drive-in
Description
This small‑town Sonic serves classic fast‑food favorites—Cherry Slushes, iced coffee, coneys, tots and sandwiches—at budget prices with outdoor seating and a kid‑ and skater‑friendly vibe. Cleanliness and a hands‑on owner earn praise, but experiences vary: some shifts deliver friendly, prompt service and tasty drinks, while others suffer wrong orders, slow card processing, missing items and dated indoor facilities. Come for inexpensive drinks and casual bites, but expect inconsistent service depending on the crew.

It wasn't even 3 full weeks that I started working for Cuero Sonic it was the worst I've ever worked at! It was bearable working alongside Jessica (the operating partner), April (an associate manager), but I wasn't scheduled with them often as I was scheduled to work with Rider (another associate manager) who was incredibly unpleasant, unprofessional, inappropriate including his buddy Sterling (who works in the kitchen) that I thankfully didn't work around often. When Rider is in charge running the Sonic, he slacked off so much, expecting me to take care of taking the orders, making the drinks, bagging the orders, taking out the orders to the stalls window, cashing out the customers at the stalls window, stocking up ice at the soda machine, cups, lids, etc. All at once at super speed. He yelled cursed at me one day for not finishing making drinks when he could easily do it himself while I'm taking out orders to customers that had waited a long time. He had literally told me if I'm going to give him attitude (because I was defending my grounds) that I could take my ass home then tried to cheat me out of tips I had made for a 2nd time in a row. Ronald (who also works in the kitchen) is a good cook, but he would be working alone with not enough product prepared for him to thoroughly get food out quick enough. Rider his buddy Sterling left the restaurant unattended for a long while on the last day that I decided to quit with the cash box open orders on the screen not being made Rider had made a write-up note for me to sign trying to twist the story that I just left early the day he yelled at me to take my ass home that his buddy Sterling was there as witness when he wasn't scheduled as cook that day it was Ronald. They both don't wash their hands or wear gloves when making food orders or drinks that require squeezing lemons/limes they would often boast about talking sexually of all women that work there or show each other women on dating apps talk dirty about them without an ounce of dignity or respect. It was tough having to work there when it is short staffed, scheduled just 1 manager, 1 cook, 1 carhop.
The chicken in my chicken sandwich looked like it had been fried four or five times before they brought it out. There was no eating it, it was nasty. The tater tots were ice cold. I asked for an unsweet tea and got a sweet tea. Thankfully I noticed the tea before I left and got the right one. Y'all can do better!!! Just wasted my money!! Service: Takeaway Meal type: Lunch
