A delightful restaurant in a lovely shopping Center . It brought back memories of Restaurants when I was a kid . Good food too
Ate breakfast at Sanborns as its only a couple of blocks from Estrella Roja bus terminal for our ride to Puebla, and it opens at 7:30 AM. We had coffee (weak) and two fruit plates with yogurt and granola. Small plate of fruit, light on the yogurt and the granola. Credit cards accepted and you take your bill to the cashier for payment. The place is looking dated.
Food 's not great, but certainly a bit above average. Prices are definitely above average, but there is an extensive menu (sometimes available in English) so easier to find something 'interesting ' or 'new '. Seats are comfy, service is usually pretty swift, and you can scale back and get a 'light ' meal if you wish (I 've eaten at Sanborns several times, including a quick lunch trip for chicken and rice soup I think under 70 pesos). Waitresses dress in 'traditional ' Mexican costume, so young children might enjoy a trip here.
It is like an oasis in the middle of the city of Cuernavaca, with an amazing and incredible garden, you can enjoy your meals here, the staff very kind and nice. They have a festival with dishes from Yucatan. You can find books, cd, dvds, clothes, toiletries, and art crafts.with parking lot.
When you visit Sanborns you know you will get value for money, good quality food. Unpon arrival I asked for the vegetarian meny....UPPS the waitress saidwe do not have vegetarian food, the manager apologised profusely and asked what sort of vegatarian food do I eat? I asked to see the menu, then proceed to order 3 different dishes from the menu which were vegetarian or vegan. Just the staff wasn´t trained to identify them. Mexican food is mainly vegetarian, if you want to try it.
