If you're looking for a good meal, don't give up Pollo's. We were there in February 2020 just at the beginning of the pandemic, so I can't get to their answer to the Kovid situation, but I would assume it would be very good. The format did not allow me to say February, so I chose the next available month.

And it is very popular fo... read more So far only one assessment? How can that be? This place is a Cuernavaca institution scattered with a few branches throughout the city. And it is very popular for lunch and especially weekends when you arrive after 3:00, then you probably need to wait...for a table. As the name says, this is about chicken. It is deeply immersed in the Mexican tradition of grilled and spiced chicken joints arriving throughout the area, and Cuernavaca is no exception, there must be dozens if restaurants offer the same fare throughout the city. But Don Pollo is the father of them all, large open spaces, large tables for large groups, a small garden and a children's play area, which is well equipped with a large framed padded scaffolding type activity area. This place is not particularly popular with families. The menu is not that complicated chicken broth to begin is a must, tasty. You can choose to have it with or without gizzards, and I'm stuck in the food em at the camp even more delicious. Then you just have to decide how many grilled food you want quarters, half, one, two... everything depends on how many you are. One side of guacamole and advised carrots and you're here! Just sit back and enjoy the conversation in the great atmosphere while the kids burn some energy on the playground. Other menu items are of course available, but they are not the reason why this place has snakes out of the door. Honestly, I would probably have given this restaurant 4 stars, but 9 years ago I met my wife in the Zapata branch of Don Pollo, and so I really want to give it 100 stars. Five have to do it.

How can that be? This place is a Cuernavaca institution, with a few branches scattered throughout the city. And it is extremely popular at lunchtimes and especially weekends - if you arrive after 3pm then you will probably have to wait for a table.As the name suggests, this place is about chicken. It is deep into the Mexican tradition of grilled and spiced chicken joints that abound all around, and Cuernavaca is no exception, there must be dozens if restaurants offering the same fare throughout town. But Don Pollo is the daddy of them all, large open spaces, big tables for big groups, a small garden and a children's play area which is well equipped with a large framed padded-scaffold type activity area. This place is not suprisingly popular with families.The menu is not that complicated - chicken broth to start with is a must, delicious. You can choose to have it with or without gizzards, and I'm firmly in the chuck-em-in camp - even MORE delicious. Then after that you just have to decide how many grilled chucks you want - quarter, half, one, two... all depends on how many you are. A side of guacamole and grated carrot, and you're there! Just sit back and enjoy the conversation in the great atmosphere while the kids burn off some energy in the playground. Other menu items are of course available, but they aren't the reason this place has queues out of the door. Truth be told, I should probably have given this restaurant 4 stars, but 9 years ago I met my wife in the Zapata branch of Don Pollo, and so I really really want to give it 100 stars.
