However, as soon as you step ins... read more I have just visited Meson Darling with my Spanish friends. From the outside it just looks like a typical Spanish bar in Cuenca. However, as soon as you step inside there is a lovely atmosphere, a seated dining area or seats around the bar if you prefer. The free tapas with a drink is excellent and varied, the variety of food on offer is varied, tasty, and really good quality. The specialities of Cuenca are delicious, I particularly recommend the morteruela which was superb. Forget the more expensive restaurants in the old town catering for foreign tourists, give this place a try, you won't regret it! The wine is also great value!

We took a salad, gazpacho del pastor, and although the later looks like an omelette, it's much more than that!
