We had a fun time in this charming and very popular spot tucked in a corner just off the Plaza Mayor. We lucked out that a table was paying their bill as we arrived, so we actually scored a table. The menu is small and focused on many local/regional specialties that were quite unfamiliar to us, even though we manage menu Spanish pretty capable. Even googling dishes such as “Ajoarriero” did not render clear answers! Nevertheless, we ventured into the unknown. A tasty platter of cheese, chorizo, and salami came “free” with the bottle of wine, so we skipped the Iberian ham toast that looked delicious. Instead we had a wonderful surprise with the salad of “canónigos” (mâche in French/English) with goat cheese, walnuts, and tomato jam. It was a huge salad, for sure designed to be shared! The ajoarriero was a different surprise, as Google led is to expect a warm cod dish; instead, a cold dish of potatoes, salt cod, and tons of garlic. It grew on me after the initial confusion, and we were safe from vampires that night. The chocolate “sausage” was clever and fun. All in all, it was a fun night and interesting experience!
Super small place but we were lucky to get a place to stand/sit, next to the bar full with locals enjoying themselves while we were enjoying the local food. Happy there was somebody with us to explain the various local speciaties because that's what you get here. No high cuisine, but nice small dishes. Careful, don't order too much: it is typical pastoral food, so very filling!
We had a lovely midday main meal here. The food has a slightly modern riff on local cuisine, which we found tasty and interesting. The service was just so helpful and friendly that I am almost unable to find adequate words for it.
Nice staff but quite basic offer. Food heated on microwave. Pisto was nice. Not a remarkable experience.
We were a group of nine and two people were vegetarians. The restaurant was chosen not only because of good reviews, but because it had vegetarian choices. Wrong! Only a little ham does not count as vegetarian, and the salads were unexceptional (as was my meat dish). Of course, this being Spain, the wine was good and well priced.

Its location is very good, very close to the main square. The place is quite good, in general, the food, the service... Recommended. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Typical food at a good price. We tried the mortaruelo, ajoarriero, wild boar meatballs and the chocolate salchichón, as well as a table of Iberian ham and bao with low-temperature lamb. The portions are of good size and we got €23 per head (we were 5 people). The service was a little slow, it took them about 15 minutes to bring us the Iberian hams, but despite that, the waiters were super friendly and the food was very good. highly recommended Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Trampantojo de Salchichón de Chocolate, Morteruelo de la Casa, Albóndigas de Jabalí, Surtido de Ibéricos
Tavern with charm exquisite food and spectacular treatment highly recommended Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Just brutal. We ate artichokes (they were brutal and they were also of quality. Nothing from a boat) some bao bread and some meat tacos that the mixture of spiced meat with a touch of sweet onion was spectacular. 100% recommended Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Tacos de Carrillada

The tavern offers typical dishes with delicious consequences. the only problem is that the phone number on your website is always out or out of coverage. I've been calling ten days and there's no way. No one takes it. I even left a message in the answering machine and it hasn't served anything. In the end we are a group of 8 people who have decided to book in another restaurant. a pity, but it can't work that way. that improves and updates the system to make a reservation. that's all they need.
An excellent place very good food, although it should be noted that perhaps by the great multitude of people food and drink is very good as well as the atmosphere of the place
Quiet corner. very good service, the waitress who attended us very nice, despite the jaleo that was there. We were 10 people with kids eating and very good place to have a quiet and short time.
We decided to book in tavern albero due to the amount of good comments that we had and indeed came to mind. the waitress attentive and friendly the very rich food and at an affordable price. The place is small but we were comfortable. When we returned to the basin we will go again.
