What User dislikes about Le Bouchon Crows Nest:
the waiters are extremely rude and have a terrible attitude. I explained that I 't have certain things to be due to the diabetics and was said that it was in order to replace something else than I went to pay, they actually charged me extra than it was a next-court (what I'm recommended) when I asked about the fee I said that they 't care and write a review if there was such a problem to make a little restaurant look... We enjoyed dinner here tonight. We started with a complimentary appetiser of escargot. Entrees we chose the seared scallops (quite small) and the French Onion Soup (a little bland). Thing improved with the mains which were the duck and the barramundi with clams. Both mains were lovely however I wasn't too sure about the combination of Barramundi & clams. Probably didn't need it but instead vegetables or similar. The wine was a 214 Sancerre which was wonderful. Service (all French) was great albeit under the pump. Will definitely return.
Le Bouchon is nestled amongst other Willoughby Road cafes and retail outlets in the popular suburb of Crows Nest! Delicious mid-week lunch with the girls for a special birthday! Decided on just one course each after a week of celebrating so of course we had to make it good and be the epitome of what French food stands for! Both friends chose the entree size and the main size Wagyu steak tartare with traditional condiments. The only difference was the larger portion had more baguette and contained a raw egg yolk on top! Looked delicious and certainly didn't hear too many complaints! There are three types of Moules Frites and I opted for the Moules Fromagere w blue cheese, lardon (cubes of pork fat) & creme! Totally delicious and I can't imagine a better sauce to dip a chip into! Comfort food at its best......luckily I was going staight to the gym from here! Bon Appetite!
Lovely French food, everything we ordered was delicious. The service was also friendly and helpful. The only thing I would suggest is to improve the decor - the outside courtyard is pretty but inside is bare and lifeless! The ambiance should match the excellent food :) Regardless, we'll be back!
The first time we walked into Le Bouchon, we walked out impressed. A few months later though, a love affair was started and 2.5 years later we still go there every few months (both for special occasions and a normal everyday dinner). The service: exquisite. There isn't very many staff but somehow, they're the most attentive staff I've ever seen. Julian (the owner) works most nights and always makes sure that everything is okay. We are always warmly greeted at the door like we're old mates and he always seems very genuine. The food: Yum! The menu changes seasonally so it's always a nice surprise to see what's new. Before you even get your food, the chef sends out little cups of soup as a complimentary entree (we've had truffle soup, pea soup, and various others. All excellent and I hate peas!!!) I'm a sucker for their escargot. Unlike most French restaurants that will give you 8 pieces in a shell, you get at least 20 snails, maybe more. I never fail to order it every single time. The French onion soup is perfect for winter. It's not quite the best I've ever had but it's pretty high on my list. The steak tartare is just the right portion and the presentation is beautiful. I've have it multiple times now and it's yet to disappoint. The goats cheese gnocchi is AMAZING. I had something similar in the highly rated Felix in the Sydney CBD but Le Bouchon does it infinitely better at half the price. Dessert platter: the individual desserts that come in the platter changes as well but it has yet to disappoint. Perfect portions to share! The price: talk about value for money! We normally spend $100 and come out very happy and sure we'll be back for more. Overall: it baffled me that it isn't higher rated. I would rate it higher if I could specially considering service and food for the price they charge. Would definitely recommend and we come back here over and over again.

The waitstaff were incredibly rude and had a poor attitude. I mentioned that I couldn't have certain items due to my diabetes, and they assured me it was okay to substitute with something else. However, when I went to pay, they charged me extra as if it were a side dish, which I hadn’t been informed about beforehand. When I inquired about the charge, I was met with indifference and told that they didn’t care, and even suggested I write a review if it was such a big deal. This is not a good look for a restaurant in a small community to mock someone with a medical condition.
Very rude waiter, instead of answering my question on the menu, he told me I should check the menu first before ordering, very short tempered, and kicked us out of the restaurant
I loved everything about Le Bouchon The cuisine was exceptional...couldn't fault it truly French dining...the service was excellent also Would recommend to anyone wishing a true French dining experience...loved it
Cozy bistro in the heart of Crows Nest, warm and attentive staff that made you feel so welcome. The food was delicious and authentic, a standout was the twice cooked cheese and tarragon soufflé, we will certainly be returning to this little gem. Highly recommended if you are looking for an excellent dining experience.
Very rude French guy waiter! We were ordering food and since we are unsure what we were ordering, he was making face and said that “ you should’ve checked the menu before ordering, if you are unhappy, you can leave now!” Like wow! This guy is the worst! No customer service skills and so unprofessional! Meal type: Lunch

Beautiful meal. We went as a treat on Mother's day when there was a $70 menu for three courses and it was a full house. My wife greatly enjoyed a quail entrée and I had a mushroom soufflé. Both outstanding. For mains I had a duck cassoulet and my wife salmon and we both had crème caramel for desert. The meals were superb. The house wines also remarkably good, we had a glass each for $9 per glass. Our kid had a sirloin from the kids menu and a Nutella crêpe. First class meal and will definitely go again but not on a night when the only option is the full three course menu. It was simply too big a meal for us. We want to select from the à la carte menu next time. The only complaint came from our child who doesn't like chocolate ice cream and was not expecting it on his crepe. Go figure :
It was suggested to try this restaurant on our visit to Crows Nest this weekend from the Hunter Valley. Well, we are glad we took their advice. We had the 8 course degustation with matching wines and it didn’t disappoint. The food was incredible, my favorite the scallops , and the wines served with the dishes, not surprisingly, matched perfectly. Staff were extremely knowledgeable with the wine selections, friendly and attentive and we would not hesitate recommending this restaurant to anyone looking for a French experience to remember. Merci
My partner and I often come here, we always get the 8 course degustation which is to die for. The food has always been amazing and so delicious not to mention the friendly and fantastic service. Also if you love truffles, I highly recommend you attending truffle week which happens once a year. The food is second to none. We love Le Bouchon and always look forward to coming here.
I don't think I've ever been to somewhere so perfect in my life! My cocktails were great and the beef checks was the best thing I've eaten in my entire life.. Closely followed by the complimentary garlic escargot we received. The staff were great and the service was amazing. Best dinner out I have had in a long time! 10/10!
The food was to die for and the wait staff very good....one dodgy oyster that had to be sent back replaced but I guess that can happen!
