Was Valentine Considine at Bo Thai a mag?
This restaurant is down the road from where and live and I love it. The prices are reasonably and the ambience is also good. I've had the seafood laksa and it was delicious. I've even tried the Tom yum fried rice which is also worth the money and absolutely delicious. View all feedback.

What Ada Pollich dislikes about Bo Thai:
Thai food in a comfortable setting at the start of the eating strip on Crow Nest. Food was decent but probably skews towards the milder end. We had the grilled chicken (gai yang), the red duck curry with lychee and the vegetable and tofu basil stirfry. Nothing particularly memorable in a good way or bad. View all feedback.

Legit spicy Thai. And I mean spicy. Larb Gai with chilli on the side is our go to and the iced tea is a god send to put out that inevitable fire.

I went on a rainy Friday afternoon so it the restaurant was not full. Service was very quick. And food came out quickly too. I ordered a green vegetable and tofu curry with rice. It was nice and spicy without being too hot. The veggies were nicely cooked, definitely not overcooked like other Thai restaurants. I would come back if I was in the area again.

What a cute name is Bo Thai (bowtie)! After finding out the connection it has to Home in the city (my absolute favourite for thai in Sydney!) there was no stopping me in checking out this little place on the North Shore. Overall it didn’t quite meet the level of Home, however the food was still pretty damn good. And on top of that, the staff at Bo are so lovely and hard working. Really great service which is one up Home and actually pretty hard to come by with the city staff. Bo was ridiculously busy, mainly with the continuous stream of takeaway/delivery orders, yet the staff managed to speed through it all with a smile on their face. Having a craving for som tam but also fearing the level of spiciness I had to go through, it was actually quite a relief that it wasn’t too bad in heat. Still hot but manageable. Felt the serving was a little small for the price though. However, would still recommend as it was tasty. Also got the pad thai which was not very hot although should have been a little, but I enjoyed it. It was definitely quite heavy on the sauce and a little too sweet but on this occasion I didn’t mind the strong flavours. Nice big serving also. The rice and noodles are definitely good options to fill you up as they were both sufficient servings, and I have to say the fried rice here is really really tasty at that. Not as salty or spicy as the others, but just the right level and a fried rice you wouldn’t mind having again. I think this place is great, and a fantastic option for Thai in Crows Nest.

FOOD QUALITY Three of us dined on a chilly eve in August. We ordered a satay chicken entrée ($10) and three mains to share: the Pad Thai with veg and tofu ($14); massaman beef with roti ($18) and fried chicken with cashews, mushrooms and chestnuts ($17). To round it off, a serve of sticky rice and a serve of boiled rice at $3 each. Everything was brought out at the same time, so we simply plonked the lot in the middle and got stuck in. The massaman beef was flavoursome and tender, but well-cooked just the way we like it. The two chicken dishes neatly complemented each other. The satay chicken was succulent and tasty and the fried chicken, spicy and crispy. The Pad Thai with its fresh, crunchy vegetables, chewy tofu, and thin, soft noodles was the perfect balance to the meat dishes. Presentation was neat and stylish in dark-hued stoneware. We all enjoyed our meals. Unfortunately, there was only one dessert on offer, fried ice cream, which none of us was in the... read more
