Catfish Cabin - Crossville
Catfish Cabin
Description
At this once-beloved dining spot, customer experiences have become a mixed bag. While many fondly recall the top-notch, farm-raised catfish and generous portions, recent visits reveal disappointment over a shift to lower-quality imported fish. Complaints about the food's taste, lengthy wait times, and inconsistent service are prevalent, alongside mentions of unappetizing appetizers and a lack of ambiance. However, some patrons still praise the warm atmosphere, friendly service, and delectable fried options, like gator tail and hush puppies. As the restaurant evolves, it struggles to balance nostalgia with new expectations, leaving loyal customers uncertain about future visits.

A very nice, small, quaint establishment. Service, food, and atmosphere were good.
Some of the best catfish we've ever had at a restaurant. It's a mom and pop place which are always the best! They bring you hushpuppies and you get to choose from sides. We got the catfish with fried okra and pinto beans. Yum!!! It did get a little warm from the kitchen area, but the food is worth it. If you are in the Crossville area and want some awesome fish, go try the fried cajun catfish.
We decided to try the catfish at this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised when they brought us a big bowl of hot and fresh hushpuppies to start. The fried catfish with Cajun seasoning was flavorful, though not very spicy. The gator tail meal was a generous portion. The sides of green beans, French fries, greens, and fried okra were delicious, but the mashed potatoes seemed to be from a mix. The unsweetened tea was weak, but at least it was fresh. Our server was very friendly to our kids and even took them on a tour to see the taxidermied animals on display.
