This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is incredible, the owner and staff are so attentive and kind, and I had a great lunch. I could taste and feel NOLA in there. The cheesy chicken and rice was great!Food: 5/5
Pros: The atmosphere was eclectic, which I really enjoyed. Our server was pleasant, and the staff was generally friendly, though a bit more reserved than I would have liked. Overall, the service was good. I ordered the hamburger steak (without gravy), rice, and steamed green beans. My husband had chicken and dumplings, along with steamed green beans and mashed potatoes. The rolls were fantastic—really captured that homestyle flavor and came with delicious cinnamon honey butter. The rice was simply white rice, but it was decent. The mashed potatoes were creamy and tasted homemade. The chicken in the chicken and dumplings was shredded nicely, not too thin, and the sauce was creamy. Cons: The steamed green beans were unseasoned, and some were still cold in the center. The chicken and dumplings had way too much salt and could have benefited from additional seasoning (a touch of pepper would have been nice). If you're sensitive to gluten, I recommend avoiding this dish. Unfortunately, the hamburger steak was overcooked, dry, and lacked any seasoning. The prices were quite high, especially given the quality of the food we received. All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it certainly wasn't worth the price.
Amazing food and atmosphere. It's definitely a secret little spot. Wish I had taken photos of the food and the inside. Definitely bought some spices. I didn't know they were $14 each. I didn't have a price on them. Even the woman up front didn't know the price. But all is wellFood: 5/5
Wow I didn?t know a place like this existed. Friendly people great food. I tried the crawfish pie it was amazing also the hot rolls and butter to start off was great too. I will be going back.
A little pricey but worth the money. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. I definitely recommend trying anything on the menu at least once. My wife had the Bluesman BBQ Sammich with the strawberry vinaigrette slaw on the side and theCreole Fire Fries. She immediately regretted not letting the slaw come as served on the sandwhich. Amazing flavor. I had thechicken and dumplings and they are, hands down, the best I 've ever had (sorry grandma). I can 't rate this restaurant highenough, especially for Crossett. If you 're passing through, stop in and enjoy great Southern food, a great staff, and a amazingenvironment.
