Top-notch quality! I sampled 8 items from the menu and was impressed with every single one. The coffee, Dutch cookie, and pie à la mode were especially remarkable, exceeding my expectations. The coffee served hot without ice was fantastic, and the black and white dessert was among the top 5 I’ve ever had. Overall, everything truly blew me away! View all feedback.
What Verona Thiel doesn't like about Bluebird Homemade Ice Cream:
$18 for a sunset? That’s what you get at this unimpressive spot in a strip mall next to a gas station. You'd think you were ordering something extravagant at a fancy seven-star hotel in Dubai with gold flakes, given the price, but that's far from the reality. Instead, you find yourself at a struggling little establishment next to a foot massage parlor. For that price, you receive a modest dessert topped with a bit of caramel and a couple of scoops of ice cream—hardly worth the hype! It's quite surprising, to say the least!.
I had a rather unusual experience at this restaurant located in a strip mall, right next to a foot reflexology and massage place. It was hard to get a clear understanding of the menu. I ordered the "Sunflower" for $18, which included two scoops of ice cream, a tablespoon of hot fudge, nine gummy candies, two tablespoons of melted chocolate sauce, and a small brownie from the dollar store, all served in a bowl. I suggest asking the staff about the options before placing your order, as they aren't listed anywhere. It honestly felt like a setup for something shady, possibly even tax evasion.
We finally moved to try this place as we often visited him in family. a hot sunny Sunday at 17 o'clock and this place was completely empty. that should have been our sign to turn around. a woman sitting at the door had locked the entrance and had listed the aromen on a sign in front, she said no one can go in and that she would take it and bring it out. there were no prizes at any place, that was also strange. I order 2 pots of ice and my fancy ordered a shake. after 15 minutes, she comes with 2 tiny portions of ice stripes in small plastic sauces and said citrate that will be $20 we were taken back. that were tiny portions, like a free sample at costco size. when my fiancé asked what happened to the shake, the lady said she didn't know. my fiancé asked her to make the shake her commanded and the dame had the neve to say I have to charge them an extra $5 for the milk if they really want me to make them shake at this point I thought we were burst or candied camera. unfortunately we were not. everything I can guess is clear from this place.
Simply the best icecream and you get friendly service
Visited Bluebird for dessert after lunch at the Muscoot Tavern and a walk through the gardens of the John Jay house... All three were wonderful and would definitely recommend! The owner is very interesting to talk with. Ice cream and homemade cakes and desserts were so, so good. She even offers vegan options! Notes: Picnic tables available outside. Inside is currently closed. She'll take your order at the door. it was cash only on the day we went (not sure if that's always the policy Don't go if you're in a hurry. Part of the charm of visiting this establishment is the time taken with each customer. Everything was fabulous well worth the visit!
