I love this place. great latte, one of the best I had. smooth and rich. better than the chain coffee shops. beautiful selection of baked goods made before location. large tiramisu! also sand-worked, wrapped and cracker-based pizzas. beautifully they find in isolated northern minnesota. What Lynn Lind doesn't like about Cofe:
eating is great, but the coffee is terrible. a latte lover, I have died too often and pulled caribou, so I was thrilled to finally have a place to get a latte in crumbs. I was disappointed by the strange and miserable aftertaste of the laugh I ordered. three times I went back and thought it could be better and was disappointed again. on the other hand, eating is absolutely wonderful. the service could use some speed,... I have eaten twice here, one because back (only opened after cof) and the second time just a few weeks before I sat down on writing this review. both of them I was very satisfied with the food and service. there are not many restaurants in crookston, let alone good. the truth is that I was only really satisfied at two places in the city, and one of them is cof. cof is located in a pretty drab, easy to miss building on the east side of the highway 2 from the city in direction grand forks. it does not look like much from the outside, but the inner is warm and welcoming with many kitschigen decorations hanging just over everywhere they look. for coffee lovers cof s barista can find all standard coffee and espresso drinks that they find in a certain unnamed but ubiquitous chain. for those who hungry cof s menu contains a lot of salads, sandwiches and wraps. Usually they have a suppe du jour but when I was there (on the gedenktag supp)e was not available. both paintings I ate at cof I ordered a sandwich, the last time it was a reub. all the essential components were there a generous stack of baked bark meat, molten black cheese, crunchy herb, a Russian style dressing, all between slices of beautiful grilled roggenbrot. it was not top notch new york deli quality, but it tasted good and I would order it every day. beer and wein are also available at cof. the small beer list included several regional craft brews. my surly furious ipa was pretty good and nice supplemented my reuben. still a small but important thing to note: the menu prices at cof mirror a cash discount. if they have to use a credit card or debit card, a percentage of their bill is added to cover the merchant's processing fees. In my opinion, this is actually an intelligent strategy that is beneficial for both business and cash-paying companies. most merchants who accept plastic decide to pay the processing fees in their overhead and their menu prices include these fees. whether a customer uses a card or not, they pay the fee. the choice to pay with cash (for a discount) or card (for a small fee), allows the consumer and protects the dealer. it's win-win as I see it.
This place is everything you'd ever want your local coffee shop to be. The decorations are fantastic and make the place feel very cozy. The employees are kind and helpful and the drink menu is quite extensive. I will definitely be returning whenever I'm in the area! Side note- hands down the creamiest and most delicious chia tea latte I've ever had
Super cute place to grab a quick breakfast. I got an almond non-fat cappuccino and it was delicious. Perfectly sweetened and decently priced. Their food is slightly overpriced however. They do not offer any meat substitutes to pork products (wish they had turkey sausage). Their oatmeal was good. It's presentation is very picturesque. The establishment was dressed nicely and has a very welcoming and comfortable vibe to it. The staff who cared for us were so kind and accommodating. I recommend this place to anybody in Crookston.
Awesome coffee shop up here in the frozen north. Super cozy and warm. You can tell that the owner put a lot of time into the décor. Every detail seems planned. Spotless bathroom. They have beer and tasty coffee drinks. Great spot to hangout or get some work done.
Spotlessly clean. We enjoyed Cofe Favorite, the helpful service to select it, the elegant restroom, the free peanuts and the decor bringing back memories of childhood with an old bicycle built for two.
