Enjoyed really good steak tips at 99 Restaurant in Cromwell, CT this afternoon. My waitress Rachel was very nice and had everything prepared just the way I like, tips medium with double rice pilaf, side of blue cheese and seltzer. Free popcorn included, what more could you want! Just a good quality meal. View all feedback.
What Thomas F doesn't like about 99 Restaurants:
I ordered the Lobster Roll special to go last night, and I was really disappointed when I got home. The to-go bag was nice, but that was the highlight. Inside, I found a standard toasted hot dog roll with some lettuce. The lobster salad was in a separate container, and there wasn't much of it. I ordered the Lobster Roll special to go last night, and I was really disappointed when I got home. The to-go bag was nice, but that was the highlight. Inside, I found a standard toasted hot dog roll with some lettuce. The lobster salad was in a separate container, and there wasn't much of it. While the lobster meat was fresh and flavorful, the coleslaw was just average, and the fries were a small portion – you could literally count them. The broccoli and cheese soup looked appealing, but now it's sitting in the fridge. The dessert was barely noticeable in taste. At over $30, this meal felt like a total rip-off. It's typical for restaurant photos to look better than the actual product, but this one must have been taken with a magnifying glass!
I usually don’t review chain restaurants, but I have to say this experience was disappointing. The fried mozzarella was greasy and cold, the clam chowder lacked flavor, and the Gold Fever wings were way overcooked. My child didn’t even want to eat the chicken parm, and my wife's steak was severely lacking in seasoning. I think I’ll skip this place in the future. It’s hard to believe I once considered it one of the better options for a quick meal.
The wait staff also leaves much to be desired. Beyond the usual issues, they are notably slow and push for orders without giving diners enough time to review the menu. When the food finally arrives, they seem to vanish and are nowhere to be found until it’s too late to address any issues. When we went to pay, a manager had to assist with the gift cards and just stood there behind the cashier, staring like a statue, which was quite unsettling. He could have at least greeted us or asked how our meal was or if everything was satisfactory. Anything would have been better than the awkward silence. Overall, it was quite an off-putting experience.

All I can say is terrible. Our waitress was extremely rude and disrespectful. She came to the table a total of 2 times we didn't even know her name. And the manager Joey was a d*ck to say the least. Our food was wrong and cold and no one came to check up on us or take the food back. we Got charged for something we didn't even order and the waitress wasn't even there to talk to. She dropped the check off without a word and walked away. That was by far the worse service I have ever gotten and I will not be coming back Here. On a not at all busy night that was ridiculous l. I got better service at the McDonald's in new Britain
