What Ariane Gutmann doesn't like about Pink Poodle:
In his day of hay, the Pink Poodle was probably the place to go, but I'm not impressed. The food is ok tasting, but too expensive for what you get. Do not order the potato soup if you think thick creamy. It was skimmed milk with large pieces of vegetables. And pass on the onion rings... I think we paid a ring for $5 or $6. This was my first visit to the Pink Poodle in Crescent Iowa in 20+ years. I brought my friend who is from Russia. She ordered a steak and I ordered the prime rib. She said the very rustic and outdated decor reminded her of places in Russia. The food was good and the service was very good. This is definitely a place for prime rib. read moreThe Pink Poodle in Crescent, Iowa, has received mixed reviews from customers. While some have criticized the slow service, outdated decor, and questionable behavior by staff, others have praised the delicious prime rib and steaks, as well as the friendly service. The prices are considered a bit high, but still reasonable compared to similar restaurants in neighboring cities. The restaurant's charm lies in its rustic and antiquated interior, which some find reminiscent of places in foreign countries. Overall, the Pink Poodle seems to be a hit or miss experience, with the main draw being the mouth-watering prime rib that keeps customers coming back for more.
