Dropped in on a whim before a movie and was impressed from start to finish. Very attentive staff and wonderful delicate flavours that I didn't expect. 5-star presentation and perfectly cooked food. The consensus was that we had the most perfectly cooked pieces of barramundi and chicken breast we had ever had, and the Naan was beautiful and light. On the more expensive side for their dishes, but well worth it. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Nilgiri’s:
On the outset I am surprised by some of the very negative reviews. I’ve also done my fair share of eating out have come to the conclusion many write subjective bad reviews based on emotions not about the food service. The honest...service was just that owners doing an earnest job with clearly their heart in it. Couldn’t do enough for you. My only gripe would be that many of the dishes were all so rich, that it became... View all feedback.

Good quality food, expensive for Indian cuisine, but very creative menu.. Expensive but worth the extra dollars!
Lovely family owned restaurant. Food is good. Service efficient and fast. We will return. Fun decor. BYO.
One of the negatives of moving to a regional area in Queensland is the lack of a good Indian like Nilgiri's. You have to get used to boring standard Tandoori style meals.Nilgiri's had been favourite in Sydney but didn't realise they had moved until I walked pat one night. The food is still the same quality but the menu seems more limited in choice - will go back and ask more questions.
Its been a few shares since I last visited Nilgiris when it was in St Leonards. Last night I attended with my brother and father. We started with the pappadams and chutneys. We prefer our papadams in original shape but they tasted quite fine and the chutneys and pinepapple raita were atreat. We followed with the goat , lamb shoulder and butter chicken with rice and naan. And the very special trio of dahls. The food was delicious and there was more than enough. I think I was a little greedy. Presentation was excellent. Food was nicely spiced to maximise flavour, staff were extremely friendly and the service swift and slick. Corkage is $4 per head so you can bring a bottle and a half or more if you have a driver. Highly recommended.
