Feedback
At this restaurant, experiences vary widely, leaving diners with mixed feelings. While many appreciate the delightful brunch menu and friendly staff, others express disappointment over the value, particularly with high prices for basic items. The lively atmosphere can be marred by stressed service members and unremarkable food quality, leading to a less enjoyable experience. Dietary accommodations appear limited, especially for gluten-free options. Recent events, like displaying sheep in a busy foyer, have drawn concern regarding animal welfare. Despite its charming setting and potential, this establishment must address service consistency and inclusivity to truly satisfy its growing customer base.
Certainly won’t be going back. Ordered 2 coffees , a scone and a chocolate brownie. At the point of paying I was told there was no cream with the scone but a pot was clearly visible with the scone and jam. I asked if that would be an available and the young girl agreed it would , at which point a more mature lady came from the kitchen and said it was display only and that they didn’t have any. I suggested that it would be a good idea to remove the pot as it was misleading but the reply was that’s not your decision it’s mine and she replaced the pot on the display. There was then a search for some jam and I suggest someone sarcastically that this may also not be available. This brought about a response that my sarcasm was abusive behaviour and would not be tolerated and I did expect the arrogance of the staff member to lead to be being asked to leave I had paid at this time). That wasn’t the case and I was left waiting for our coffees. One coffee was placed on the tray and I awaited the 2nd one but it was clear the assistant wasn’t making a second one. One again the mature lady came out and told me I should sit down and the tray would be brought to our table but was clearly unaware one drink was missing. After much searching to find the original order it was confirmed another coffee would’ve made and the whole tray brought to our table. The lady who brought this was pleasant and a far cry from the mature lady who was clearly in charge. Maybe the mood I was now in has some bearing on my enjoyment of food that was delivered but all I can say is that it looked better than it tasted both the scone and the brownie were bland and the coffee barely warm). I have been a customer since the shop/cafe opened and at one point had a loyalty card. This experience and my overall view of the shop has changed and I see no reason to return as there are places offering better quality and value in the Skipton area.
Visited with Grandchildren. They made their own which they enjoyed doing. I had a meat feast. Must say that all the pizzas and coffees, etc were absolutely lovely Great service too well done
Decided to go for first time in three years.Got a table straight away but had to wait to order drinks.Food was great plenty and tasty. Very busy Sunday morning with minimal staff , tables left with plates on.My wife ordered a drink and had to go to the bar herself to get it .The service let the place down. Need more staff on especially at busy times .
A decent place for lunch using produce from the farm shop. We shared the goats cheese small plate and the Ploughmans. We enjoyed both.
The brunch menu is delightful, offering good food along with the option to do some shopping at the farm shop. The lady at the front of house was especially pleasant and accommodating, managing to find us a table on a busy Sunday. The only downside is that they do not take reservations, so my suggestion is to arrive earlier rather than later, especially on a Sunday.
