Chimes - Craigavon
Chimes
Description
Chimes Café in Portadown is becoming a notable choice for locals seeking a pleasant escape, especially given its proximity to a bus stop. While the restaurant generally impresses with its good food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service, some patrons have experienced hiccups, including unexpected pricing and slow service during peak hours. The menu features delectable items like Cajun chicken sourdough toasties and chicken Caesar salads, enjoyed in a relaxed setting free from loud music. Overall, Chimes maintains high hygiene standards and a friendly vibe, making it a strong contender among the growing competition in the area.

On my first visit to Chimes, I was greeted with a smile by a very pleasant and polite staff member. The food was of excellent quality and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend Chimes to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Thank you for a wonderful time.
There are numerous coffee houses and cafes in Portadown now, making it difficult to find a standout option. Many of them offer similar experiences and the prices for a small cup of speciality coffee are quite high. However, one positive aspect is that this particular cafe is conveniently located next to a bus stop. It provides a nice escape from the cold and wet weather while waiting for your bus.

I had free time to spend, as I was having my car serviced at Mercedes Benz, Portadown: My Taxi driver recommended this cafe for a bite of lunch ! He was spot on . I had Mince pie and chips that was presented nicely tasty and at just the right temperature. Social distancing was maintained and each table was cleared promptly and all areas (including seating) sanitised after customers left. Prices reasonable. However, even though the cafe wasn 't too busy (about half full), I had to wait around fifteen minutes to be served (despite good staffing); I had difficulty attracting a waitress 's attention. Once served I found the waitress friendly and attentive. The decor was fresh and appropriate for a cafe. The number of tables had been reduced to allow for distancing . Waitresses did not have masks (but I was happy with this as distancing was adhered to. Hygiene was good. Recommended.
