Mt. Lofty House - CRAFERS
Mt. Lofty House
Description
Mt Lofty House in Adelaide Hills, a landmark venue, has been receiving mixed reviews. While some guests had disappointing experiences with poor service, limited menu options, and inflated prices, others praised the excellent food, wine selection, and professional staff. With stunning views and a warm ambiance, the restaurant has potential but needs to address issues like slow service and inconsistent quality. Despite some setbacks, there were positive experiences, such as weddings, anniversaries, and special occasions being celebrated at the restaurant. Overall, Mt Lofty House offers a mixed dining experience that could be improved to meet the expectations of its guests.

Opulent to say the least, but then that's what you really want during pre and post wedding celebrations, especially if it's your wedding! MLH took care of
Wow, can't fault this place! Came to Mount Lofty House for a friend's 70th and everything was perfect.
To clarify this 'restaurant' is only open for breakfast for hotel guests from what I was told.Such a pity for the hotel as it has the space for a middle of the road restaurant but only has a 5 star restaurant and I didn't like the sound of the menu or the price to be honest. It has lovely views and decidedly average service standards. be warned the continental breakfast is 26 AUD and the full is 40 AUD but what I can't believe is that a hotel that is trying to pitch itself as high class only gives you **** plunger coffee. If you want expresso its another 5AUD. Also ask to plunge your own coffee or they will and its very weak. Food well displayed and an adequate range for a basic brekkie
We were shouted weekend breakfast here recently. We had a really lovely time with our generous friends, but were surprised & disappointed by the service. It was poor. The food was reasonable but not particularly good and certainly not special. For a major tourist venue, we would have liked both to be at least good & preferably excellent. Our friends were staying in the hotel & were philosophical as they liked the surroundings & had adjusted to the indifferent service, a feature since they arrived. They noted that the staff addressed them by their first names immediately, without asking permission, and wondered if that was connected. Mt Lofty House is a landmark Adelaide Hills venue & those in charge are letting it down.
