Perfect stop for a drink and snack after a day wondering around the lovely Coyoacan. The staff were beautiful - the food and drinks great too. My Spanish is very basic, but I've been getting by - I ordered the guacamole with chapulines. Turns out 'chapulines' are grasshoppers, a specialty of Central Mexico - salty and a bit crunchy - but I'm really glad I tried it!! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Celestina:
Came here for a rest from the Day of the Dead festivities (30/10/16). We had a seat outside and it was a good spot to people watch. Service was ok although we didn't ask for any advice re: which mezcal to try - we just chose randomly from the extensive menu. As it's the first time I've been to a mezcal bar I can't comment on how it compares. Didn't eat whilst there bit the food other people had looked nice. View all feedback.
It’s a place with a lot of people always. They have a big beer menu but they always have only a few of those options. Good options for mezcal. The service is not good. There are better options in Coyoacán.

Saw chapulines tacos on the menu and had to try them. Grasshoppers fried in garlic, oil, and peppers, served with raw onion, avocado, and cilantro. Tasted good, nice and crunchy.
I love this place. The cocktail was great. If you are a vodka lover you need to drink caramel instead of if you prefer Mezcal, you need to get a sarap. Personal are very friendly and they have a fast service. I'll be back soon.
We had a great time in la celestina. Food and drinks are very cheap. Beautiful atmosphere and very attentive staff.
