A simple, down-to-earth Mexican restaurant five minutes from the Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul). Good-quality, home cooking (chicken soup, fish with salad and beans etc) for ordinary prices (two-course lunch with non-alcoholic drink was 80 pesos). Friendly service and clean. Mostly used by locals living or working in the area. View all feedback.
We stumbled into this restaurant by accident after discovering that two restaurants recommended by LP no longer existed. What a pleasant surprise. In fact, it was the best fixed price lunch (at 78 pesos!!! we've enjoyed in a while. The lentil soup was hearty and richly flavoured. The second plates, salad and rice, were cleaner and fresher tasting than the usual fillers, and the main course, Chicken Florentine was delicious. The four and not five star rating is due to the beef stew being tasty but stringy. Finally, the dessert of fried plantain with cream was to die for...a long walk in Vivero Coyoacan park afterwards was necessary.

I had the Crema Poblana and it was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. And I eat soup everywhere! I will dream about this soup. I also had the chalupas which were 85 pesos, which were very tasty and the juice of the day, which was also good. I highly recommend this place. There’s no English menu but they are also on Uber eats for take out which was fast and efficient and is very easy to navigate as someone who speaks no Spanish lol. Anyways I highly recommend this place. My family and I are staying across the street and we’ve been 6-9 times collectively in a few days
