The almost always empty parking lot made us think for a couple of years that it was non operational. Finally, we were taken there by friends last year and it's now our regular spot for curing our steak cravings. If you've spent enough time in San Carlos to return to a restaurant more than once you may have noticed that consistency can be hit or miss. Here at El Bronco, consistency is the norm. Steaks done to perfecti... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about El Bronco:
We have been there three times and only because people told us we must of had an off night. But three lousy nights. The service and the food are bad. My husband ordered a steak with the bandar sauce. The tiny steak arrived with no...sauce. When we asked about the sauce the waiter took the steak back took over 10 minutes then came back with some sauce but no resemblance of what we know as band era sauce. All three tim...
For the longest time we were not aware that this was actually a restaurant. it is not easy to see the name on the façade. but as soon as we found out the names and checked the reviews, we thought we would check it out. as in other...reviews, it never seems to be a lot of cars here, and when we came to the restaurant, we found that we were the only diners. another group came when we were gone. this is a more difficult place to check. where it is right, it is very good and where it is not good, there is room for improvement. there are bed linen tablecloths and serviettes. unfortunately my serviette was stained. the waiting staff is attentive and provides a good job. the edible is well made, although some of the windows could use a good cleaning and the light bulbs in the sconces were sorted sizes and were dazzling inconsistent. the guacamole appetizer is with the title 'guacamole our way. we were up for it. Apparently our way means a bucking avocado on a teller. no spices, no granat apple or other interesting ingredients; only one buck avocado on a serving with chips on another. not good. we ordered the grilled lobster and petit filet. the lobster is not served in the dish. it is grilled and served with the thinnest potato slices I have ever seen. the lobster tasted good. the filet was served medium and had good taste. it says you are served with salad or sweet. we were not asked what we preferred. veggies came from 2 paprika, a fried tomaten and a wobbly. the veggies were moderate. a sequence of vanilla ice cream didn't taste such a thing, so it really touches after the first few bites. that was our most expensive meal in san carlos. and eating just did not meet the expectations or the price point. brot was served in a basket and was just a few small rounds. it looked like the rest of the other diners sections and was not at least bit appealing.
Found the food, service and drinks worth the money. It is not inexpensive and might fall on the pricy side, but represented good value. Will be on the list next time in town. Decent wine. List and great beef.
