Opal Rooftop is excellent. We were seated outside immediately and were impressed with the 360 view of Covington and the Cincinnati skyline. The waitress was fun and promptly took our orders. The food was amazing! Not your every day fare. Definitely recommend and will go again. View all feedback.
What LisaB doesn't like about Bill's Corner Cafe:
Food was just ok, limited menu. Not much flavor. Two specialty cocktails not available. Had to run somewhere to pick up ingredient for raspberry martini and not that great. Ambience is wonderful with great views but menu needs to be changed or enhanced to be successful. View all feedback.
We had dinner here last night for the second time in about a month. Our waitress was once again Emma, who remembered us from the last time we were there. She provided absolutely excellent service. The food was incredible. the atmosphere was amazing. There are not many rooftop options available in the Cincinnati northern Kentucky area. Seating is small so I recommend reservations well in advance. But you need to put this on your must eat dining list.
The elevator in the building was broken, again, so we climbed 7 levels of a very dirty stairway to get to Opal. The restaurant was gracious in giving consideration for this and the elevator was fixed before we left. The absolute highlight of our evening was the amazing service provided by Mexican immigrant (Yes, Please Note That) Brian. I spoke to the Manager about the high quality of his service. The food was good but all you get is whatever meat/fish that you 've chosen unless you invest additional monies in sides no bread, no rice, no potatoes, or veggies with same. We had the chicken dish. The chicken was very good but, sans even one potato, rice, veggie, whatever probably overpriced. I inquired and all the other dishes had no starch or veggie associated with same that 's not competitive with what other restaurants offer. The ambiance, sans the outdoor deck, is horribly lacking to the point of being pretty awful. Fans were running inside the restaurant so I wondered whether, in addition to problems with the building over the elevator, whether there were also issues with the building owners over the AC or whether it was just inadequate and so that fans it was obvious that the fans weren 't just there for the evening we were there. All that said, the only reason I would go back to Opal, even if the elevator was working is because of their Amazing server Brian.
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. Opal was recommended to us by a friend and we were disappointed. The service was ok, but not amazing. I felt like we waited longer than necessary to order considering the restaurant was only half full and the outside was closed due to weather. The food was just ok. My hamburger was undercooked and had to be sent back. The Toast appetizer was soggy and basically inedible. We left it mostly uneaten. The view is just meh from the rooftop. Overall, much better places to visit in the Cincinnati area.
Swanky restaurant with beautiful rooftop views (inside and on the patio) of Cincinnati/Covington. Delicious yummy cocktails. Really great service. The chicken dinner was tender and well paired with vegetables and sauces. Chocolate torte was excellent...not too sweet but rich and decadent.
