This is the best barbecue pork sandwich I've ever had! It's also the largest, with enough meat for three sandwiches. I was driving through Covington when I saw a lot of activity in the restaurant's parking lot, clearly serving food. It was lunchtime and I was starving, trying to figure out where to stop for lunch. I'm so glad I decided to stop here! I actually drove past it initially, but turned around when I saw the... View all feedback.
What C Byrant doesn't like about Bald Butcher:
This restaurant used to be the best place to eat, but not anymore! The barbecue is still good, but the dining-in experience has become terrible. The food on the buffet is cold and unappealing. When you order food, it seems like they just throw it together now. I am disappointed as this was once my family's favorite place to eat. View all feedback.
The fried chicken is great and if they have luck, they can get some of the fantastic kossnusskuchen.
Have you ever been to a buffet style restaurant where they don't have everything ready well we did today but then when the mac-n-cheese was finished they brought my husband and I both a bowl. Then brought him a large piece of meatloaf once it was complete. The best food ever just like my grandmother's home cooking on Sundays. Not only was the food great but the waitress was awesome and made sure we were well taken care of. Thanks from The Bailey's
I took my crew here for lunch today. We were in town from Jackson, TN working. The food was beyond fantastic. It was good enough I would gladly drive to Covington just to eat. Everything we all tried was great whether it was the main course or the dessert. The staff was great all around and our server Megan G was as good of a server as I've had anywhere. Will gladly be back!
Bald Butcher had the best baked chicken and black eyed peas I've ever tasted. The BBQ pork melts in your mouth. Awesome atmosphere and the buffet has a large selection. Very responsible price.
First time to visit this restaurant and the service was the best ever. We were greeted and seated almost almost immediately by a very nice hostess. She told us that Friday was fish day, and when I asked her if the fish was catfish and she said no, it was SWAY. I was told they had tried catfish and it tasted to muddy. So, they decided to use this poisonous fish imported from the cesspools of ASIA. Folks don't be fooled, for your own satisfaction just google SWAY and see for yourself. The least they could do is support USA fish farmers and serve a decent fish in this establishment. Just BEWARE of the fish you get when eating out. Just because it's cheaper doesn't meant it's as good, or even good for you. As I said before, the service was wonderful and a very pleasant experience.
