This is the best barbecue pork sandwich I've ever had! It's also the largest, with enough meat for three sandwiches. I was driving through Covington when I saw a lot of activity in the restaurant's parking lot, clearly serving food. It was lunchtime and I was starving, trying to figure out where to stop for lunch. This restaurant used to be the best place to eat, but not anymore! The barbecue is still good, but the dining-in experience has become terrible. The food on the buffet is cold and unappealing. Actual conversation we just had on the phone: “Do you do take away?” “Okay I’d like to place an order.” “What would you like?” “I’d like two prime ribs, one medium, one medium rare.” “I don’t think we have have ribs today.” “No, the prime rib. “The rib-eye?” “No, the prime rib. It’s a steak. On your menu.” “Hold on.” Placed on hold indefinitely. Hang up. Call back. “Can I speak to a manager?” “Hang on.” Pause. “They’re not here right now.” “Were you able to figure out if you have a prime rib?” That’s when she hangs up.
The fried chicken is great and if you're lucky, you might get some of the awesome coconut cake.
