Zorbas - Coventry
Zorbas
Description
Zorbas is a delightful taste of Greece right here in Coventry. Despite some changes due to the pandemic, the restaurant still offers a fantastic dining experience with delicious dishes reminiscent of traditional Greek tavernas. The service is top-notch, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. While live music was missing during our visit, we were assured that a new Greek musician would soon be performing, adding to the lively atmosphere of the restaurant. From meatballs to souvlaki, the food at Zorbas is outstanding, with flavors that transport you to the streets of Rhodes or Zante. The outdoor seating area is perfect for a party night, complete with Greek wine and traditional Greek dance for added entertainment. The only minor downside was the lack of homemade pitta bread, but overall, Zorbas is highly recommended for an authentic Greek dining experience that will leave you wanting more. Be sure to book a table in advance to avoid any disappointment.

My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Friday evening. The service was friendly, but we were disappointed with the food. The starters were just warm and the plates were too small. The mains were rushed and also only warm, with a bland taste. Overall, we were not happy with the quality of the food and would not recommend this place.
The restaurant has declined in quality, the food was better in the past. However, the atmosphere is still enjoyable and it is a great spot for hosting a party.
We have been loyal customers for the past few years and have loved every visit. The lamb dishes are exceptional, especially the Kleftico and Souvlaki. They also have a great selection of wines, or you can enjoy a glass of Mythos, a delicious Greek beer. This family-owned restaurant provides excellent and friendly service. Conveniently located just a short drive from downtown Coventry, parking is easy to find.
Based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor I booked a table at Zorbaz.Whether I had too high a level of expectation I don 't know but I was rather disappointed with the whole experience. The decor was rather cold and the lighting harsh. Onto the food; the portions were not generous, starters were served on a plate of a size most resturants use for bringing the bill and a few mints. My Kleftico was well cooked and the meat fell off the bone, but it was too bland. I 've had much better in pub restaurants. It was 'garnished ' with half a plate of shredded lettuce which ending up swimming in the graby. The Moussaka was poor. There were three Rose wines on the menu but they had no stock of any of them. We were offered a bottle of Blossom Hill, probably straight out of Tesco. I ordered a J2O to drink, was given a choice of four flavours but the one I chose arrived as something different. The live music was probably a little too loud. The one saving grace for the evening was our hysterically funny waiter, who wouldn 't have been out of place in Fawlty Towers. I think he was new and his antics weren 't deliberate, he was so charmless and inept it was funny. Completely untrained I think. Finally the bill. We asked three times for it and waited 15 minutes before we got fed up and walked up to the desk to pay. They seemed to have trouble making the bills up yet the place wasn 't exactly busy for a Saturday evening. Not one to revisit.
