To be... read more Halle **** lujah we finally get a decent meal at The Unicorn. For the first time in many visits I finally left this establishment having enjoyed my food. To be honest, we usually only visit here because, in the words of my 6 year old son he is I believe I 'm a fan of the place but the food is usually sub standard; under cooked gammon or cremated crispy chicken. Having been to St Nicholas Park this morning, Bank Holiday found all the chippy 's shut and being too hot to cook a meal in a pub garden with the glorious sunshine was appealing. Throw in a new menu and a 'Kids eat for £1 ' on a Monday and it looked promising.So the missus had her usual crispy chicken with parmigiana sauce and I tried the new Route 66 burger (burger, cheese, bbq pulled pork, 2 hash browns and a fried egg in a brioche bun nom nom! and the Little Man had the kids hot dog meal. Drinks were a cup of tea, a glass of milk and a glass of coke. All of the above for a little over £23. Service today was friendly and quick and I really couldn 't fault it. There you go, Unicorn, you 've set the bar for next time. Don 't let me down!
