The best Thai restaurant we've experienced in Durham! Every time we order dinner from there, we are never disappointed. Everything from start to finish is exceptional. We are especially thrilled with the curry—it's the best flavor we've ever had. The taste, portion sizes, and quality of the ingredients are all excellent. And the view of the cathedral is beautiful. albeit we had a little hardships to find our way into this restaurant during the evening dark, we finally managed to identify the right staircase to this food. it was definitiw the frustration to find the Riverwalk terrace for thai river. we enjoyed a pork dish that comes in chang mai kitchen. it was a manifestation. our second main was a standard enten curry, also very tasty. When I found out that the former Numjai restaurant was reopening as Central Thai, I was eagerly looking forward to trying it out.
After having a great dining experience at this restaurant a few weeks ago, I was let down by the meal I had yesterday.
Service was slow, food was good except for the four whole chillies I was unable to eat the meal as it was way to hot. We are very used to hot food, but this was overkill! All the other food was very good. However staff could have been more helpful.
Although we had some trouble locating the restaurant in the evening darkness, we eventually found the right set of stairs leading to this eatery. The effort was well worth it once we reached the Riverwalk terrace at Thai River. We tried a pork dish native to Chiang Mai cuisine, and it was a delightful surprise. Our second main course was a classic duck curry, which was also very delicious.
