Sunken Ship Grill - Counce
Sunken Ship Grill
Description
A bustling, no-frills neighborhood bar-restaurant celebrated for inventive, craveable wings — from Queen Bee to Yolo — and solid comfort dishes like butter chicken and bacon cheeseburgers. Regulars praise phenomenal sauces, crisp sides and a well-stocked bar; servers and bartenders are warm, though service can slow when packed. Expect lively, crowded nights, affordable prices, and inconsistent comforts: box fans instead of reliable air-conditioning, no Wi‑Fi and spotty cell reception. A favorite for wing lovers and late-night diners who value flavor over frills.

We’ve been coming to the sunken ship for years, but went there yesterday. The service and the food stunk took a long time to get our waitress at the end of the bar, eating her own food and not waiting on us, giving the other younger waitress a hard time, The food was half the size I even mentioned it to the manager, which Acted like she can care less so needless to say we won’t be back Food: 1
The service was slow, the staff were very friendly and doing their best with the busy crowd. But these wings? The BEST wings I have ever had. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
Kept hearing great things about the food but whenever i tried in the past it was always jammed wall to wall. After my experience today i see why they where jammed and highly recommended. I went with the bacon cheese burger and seasoned fries and dispite my skepticism my lofty expectations where exceeded. I have to admit it was the best I can ever remember having. Liquor selection food service Food: 5
Run down bar that was near my hotel so I went. It shares a parking lot with a sketchy gas station which was odd. The menu I was given had chicken wing sauce all over it. The dining room was freezing. Bartender was less than pleasant. She wouldn’t give me the WiFi code even for some reason. Lots of wing sauces which is kind of cool. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
The restaurant was very close to the cabin at the state park we were staying in. When we arrived, they asked us to find our own seating and were immediately there to take our drink and appetizer order. We received our appetizers in a timely manner but waited about an hour for our food to arrive. It wasn't just our table because two other tables that arrived shortly after us received their drinks, waited about 30 minutes, and left. When we received our food, it was pretty good. We got the cajun chicken sandwich, boneless wings, and mushroom burger. All of the items were very good. The poutine fries were the standout. They were awesome! If they were standing around while we were waiting for our food, I would have given them less stars, but they were moving around and refilling drinks. So the problem was something unavoidable in the kitchen, which I can't blame the front for.
