After returning after a year away, I was disappointed to find that the tea room was no longer there, and part of the shop was closed off next to the water wheel. It seems like visitor numbers may have dropped, as there was no place to have a snack and a cup of tea, although there are nearby options that are similar in price. The merchandise in the shop has not changed, with the same clothing and tourist items. It could use an update with new stock to bring some new life into it. However, the staff were friendly as always.

This restaurant is a charming spot to relax after a walk. They serve the most delicious ice cream you will ever taste, and the lady who served us was friendly and courteous.

We came across this place on a website and decided to look for it to grab some coffee. Unfortunately, it had closed down, but the old mill shop and museum were still there. However, the museum is only open during the winter. Despite this, the lemon sorbet ice cream was delightful and a perfect way to cool down on a sweltering day.

Following a lovely walk with our pup, this cafe was a welcome stop for our lunch. The sandwiches we ordered were huge, very tasty and so filling we sadly didn’t have room to sample the cake selection offered. Will have to save that treat for another visit Dogs are welcome in the cafe garden.

I'm frankly flabbergasted at some of the other reviews about poor service as this couldn't be further from the truth on my visit last weekend, and in fact the staff went above and beyond, letting my mum in through the side gate as she was in a wheelchair and the manager joining us for a chat as we were happily reminiscing as a family for my dads 80th birthday Please don't take any notice of bad reviews.... please visit this lovely little nook and decide yourselves..... The Victoria sandwich cake and scones were heavenly too!
