What david parry doesn't like about Jesse's Bistro:
We had booked an early table 7pm and found ourselves the only people for almost an hour so our general feeling did not start off well. I'd booked Jessie's because our restaurant of choice was fully booked from 6pm till after 9. The food was good but I felt that it was top notch prices for only ok food. Bread and olives, no starters, no dessert, no wine, three tonic waters and one gin and four main courses ended with... View all feedback.
Really excellent food very well presented terrific value a surprise to find definately will recommend and go again
This was our 4th Christmas visit to catch up with family food excellent a always and a warm welcomes from friendly ,courteous and well informed staff
I have been eating at Jesse Bistro for as long as I can remember. The chef cooks within his means so everything always works, the ambience is created by honouring one of those classic nooks and crannies of a building you find down an alley way in an ancient English town and the staff are always amiable and welcoming. I had the cheese shuffle and the lamb which was cooked slowly and was very tender. My friend had the naughty burger and the chips (well I stole one) and it was superb.
This was a really excellent meal with some original combinations and good choice of ingredients. We left feeling satusfied but not stuffed, which is always a good sign. Service was a little slow and prices were a little high, but overall a good experience and we will be back.
We chose Jessie's to meet an old friend, who we hadn't see for over twenty years. It turned out to be the perfect place. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome, and the relaxed atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. The service was very friendly, and our waiter was very understanding of how long it took us to even start to look at the reassuringly short menu. The menu choices were all tempting, with many of the ingredients locally-sourced. We all had different starters mains, and all really enjoyed our selections. The desserts (local) cheese biscuits were of a similarly high standard. The range of vegetarian options were somewhat limited, but the available dishes were very tasty. There was at least one for each course. We ended up being the last people in the restaurant, and felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted, with no hint that it was time to go. Highly recommended.
